Thanks Cymro.Yes everything is going well.I seem to have turned a corner at last! For me it has honestly been hell its been like wrestling with a snake like creature that constantly changes shape,and its direction of attack as well as being on a white knuckle roller coaster ride at the same time! Phew! We are all different and for some its an easy journey.I hope you get through this weekend alright it will be a tester methinks.Just remember there is no such thing as one puff.I found Alex's way of looking at it very helpful ie."I can have a cigarette any time I want but I choose not to smoke today" etc etc etc and before you know it weeks have gone by. Stay vigilant.All the best.

Yes...I am taking a risk right now enjoying a glass of wine....well not enjoying it as much as it's without a smoke I have to admit....but no way I am giving in....there are no cigarettes in the house....and I have told my regular Spar supplier to refuse to serve me!!...have a good weekend, Soosan.

I just started day 4 today.

So confusing stopping in the middle of the day (stopped after lunch in work, didn't really mean to .... it just happened!)

I was also really worried about the weekend coming up but sod it .... I'm joining you with a beer.

I know it is probably really not a good thing to do but we have to have some rewards ..... don't we?

Mind you on the plus side ..... it doesn't half taste better doesn't it?

Day 7 and was not prepared to find it this tough today I must admit....I'm your typical, sort of boring middle-aged guy...and dry Sunday's are lawn cutting and gardening days once in a while....and today was that day...and is normally accompanied by a a couple of pondering and satisfying smokes......but not today....and boy did I miss them.....but here I am....almost the end of my first week.....and still clean...hopefully chat in week 2.

Well done Cymro. I struggled when I was gardening at the beginning of my quit. I used to stop for a fag break and I missed it. Not now though, dont even think of it. That is how it will be for you too before you know it!

Thanks, Haze...so you know how I felt....strange how you cannot predict all situations when a craving will hit you....but that is one I will be prepared for next time....already looking at Wednsday coming....going to watch my stepson's band in a local pub...accompanied by several beers, and what seems like most people popping out between sets for the inevitable smoke., including the parents of the other band members....intersting I think describes that scenario!!!!
