On day 4 but feel like a horrible cheat

I had decided to quit cold turkey on Thursday the 16th. And I made it cold turkey until yesterday when i purchased a e-cigarette. I have been using it since. Now I feel horrible and like I need to start all over again because I have cheated.

Hey Lisa!!! Don't beat yourself up about it. You could have given in and smoked a real cigarette and we all know what would have happened next. Whatever you need to do to get off the cigs is the way to do it. At least with the e-cig you are not slowly killing yourself. Just stick with it and make sure that you are not using a real cig and you will continue to get the support of the good people on this forum.

Lisa you are not a cheat at all, ECIGS is just like using patches or gum as it still has some nicotine in them, as long as no reall cigs your doing great!!

keep it up and start to cut down the ecig over time until once twice aday then bote the bulltet.

Its your way oif quitting and it it makes you more comfortable this way you do that girl!

Thank you guys for the words of encouragement. I know I will never go back to smoking real ciggs because the last few days have been hell and I am not about to go through that again. Plus the hubby still smokes and his breath after he puts one out is enough to make me gag :eek: I guess I never realized it before and i am sure mine smelled the same way

Hey, I'm on e cigs, I'm trying today on matchless zero nicotine. I've had high/medium strength e lites. It's not cheating at all. It's still killing me doing it- you dont get as much nicotine as you do on 20 a day. E cigs are great my friend hasn't smoked for three months on them, and people are right, its just like nrt. On day 4 I'm not as obsessed with them as I was on day one, so it works and my quit is easier than my last attempt. They are a great crutch. X
