Hi to all out there!

Today is officially 1 whole month since I quit smoking....I had hypnotherapy but not entirely convinced that it worked but nonetheless I have since been smoke free!:)

It's good to know that I have you guys to support me through this journey to complete and absolute freedom (if there is such a thing!) and vice versa...giving up smoking can seem like a very lonely, scary place!...my body and mind are all over the place and seriously think I'm becoming completely paranoid about every little ailment

I wish everyone on this site every success and the determination to continue with the shared, single goal to be smoke free for eternity.

Mimi x

Thank you!

Hello and Thank you guys for your words of encouragement! And Lizzie, welcome to you too!

I attempted to give up a year and a half ago, using patches but suffered quite a few adverse skin conditions, which I put down to as having an allergic reactions to the patches! I have since discovered that apart from the red, swollen squares left on my skin, which caused discolouration too, all other reactions were the result of detoxification!

To cut a long story short, I slowly weaned my way back to smoking by coming off the patches for vanity reasons!!! Moral being....what's the point of having a clear complexion when I am endorsing premature wrinkling, a toothless mouth, bad breath etc....

So, after near enough 20 years of smoking, this is my second real attempt!

I am quite glad to say, that my cravings are few and far between now but I am not coping with mental and physical changes that I feel myself going through...am at the point where I feel like I am turning into a hypercondriac! LOL!

However, whatever this last and final quit throws at me - I am a non-smoker and I will be a non-smoker for the rest of my life!

Mimi, if you wave the patches around for about a minute it disperses the alcohol and you don't get red patches or itching. I don't know why it doesn't say that on the packet.

Well done Mimi - you've done great. I've got two more days to go until I can say the same.

Hoping you're feeling very proud of yourself - you should be! I don't think the first month is easy at all, has been really up and down for me.

Good luck for your second month.

Hello to you!! Welcome to the site!! I get excited for each person who joins and sounds serious about quitting. It's crazy how I only smoked for 5 years and it was the hardest thing in my life. You are at the point where all control is there and hopefully if you had anxiety it's gone as well. It's all in your head now. Your body is done craving it. But that stupid voice in your head will come up with the reminder that "a smoke sounds good" just ONE, no biggie. What a trickster our minds are. Good for you & your right decision
