Well three months in to watching what I eat and drink and I'm the best part of two stones lighter. I'm not exactly sure as I didn't start weighing myself immediately...a good cheat technique :) Mind you my belly was in the way of seeing the scales any way.

I sought help from a nutritional therapist to help me along the way.

For those interested I've done this on limiting carbs (especially after 15:00), the carbs I do eat are unrefined (brown), I try to stay away from potatoes and stuff. Lots of lean protein, nuts and seeds.

I've been careful of low fat stuff! I use full fat Greek yoghurt and cheeses as reduced fat stuff is usually pumped full of carbs. I try to keep my diet as natural as possible by not eating stuff that has been fettled with.

Oh and grazing, I never go 2 - 3 hours without a meal of some kind.

Don't just take note of scales as these don't define whether you're using lean or fat. BMI and other measurements are a much better guide.

Well done on losing 2 stone. That is brilliant!

Good grief, I thought I was reasonably well informed about nutrition, but I didn't know that! Yet another piece of dodgy marketing to send us in the wrong direction ...

But anyway, very well done on the quit and the weight loss.

2 lbs is a nice loss for the first week. I've tried to ensure my loss is controlled as I've wanted to ensure I'm shedding fat and not lean. Nothing burns calories like muscle so don't want to be losing that!

My exercise bike has become my best friend (due to rubbish weather!), I do get out on my biked (road and mountain) when time allows. I also have some simple weights. I'm getting more interested in exercising at home and would like to learn a little more about stuff that can be done around the house.

I'm hoping to get a exercise bike soon as I'm just using my wii fit and Zumba game there really good but I get bored easy.

We're lucky enough to have a small home office/study so I've whacked the bike up there in front of the PC. I'm not a big TV fan but cycling whilst watching something makes things much easier. I started seriously back in April and I'd struggle to get through a 30 minute sketch show on an easy setting. Now I'll quite happily cycle through a good hour TV show or a film at a decent level of resistance.

It's amazing how quickly your body changes. I now want to mix thing up with a little running but need to take it easy due to a bad back.
