Hi guys! Not good news I'm afraid! My birthday weekend was going so well & then after toooooo many drinks my guard lowered & I ended up smoking the stupid little things! I feel so annoyed with myself & feel I have let not only myself down but everybody on this forum! It was a slip that I have decided will never happen again!!!! I had 4 on Saturday night & just had one now! :( THIS IS MY LAST FAG EVER!!!! I don't feel like I did when I quit before, I don't really want to smoke & the way I felt on my quit before the slip was amazing therefore... here we go again! Not a good feeling to go all the way back to the start, alittle like the snakes & ladders game when you get to 99 & have to slide all the way to number 1. I actually thought I had a choice over the last few days, going back to my old self, smoking 20 a day........ THIS IS NOT A CHOICE, therefore I am back, stronger than ever! You have picked on the wrong guy nicotine! I will knock you out!! :):D

Sorry to hear about your slip leeroy.

However the important thing is to pick yourself up and start again - which is what you are doing.

One day at a time......

Good Luck

xx

Well done leeroy !! It's too easy to give up but takes a lot of strength and guts to dust yourself down and carry on, don't look at it like your back to the beginning of a quit, look at it like you tackled an obstacle and look forward !!

Good luck mate

Rob

Well done on getting back on the horse. I did the same thing. Once bitten twice shy :-)

Leeroy,

I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news but you are hanging on by tiniest of threads and the devil is playing tricks with your mind! When you had those cigs you opened the door to him. Having another one today proves it...I only know because that is exactly what happened to me.. and roundabout the same 3 month mark!

So, it's fantastic that you are still thinking about being a non-smoker but you are going to have to change the way you are thinking about it - you can't have a few because it's your birthday - or for any other reason. Sad truth is, you are an addict. I know you know that but tell your unconscious the way it is because it still thinks it's ok to have one, or two .. even a couple of weeks down the line and then WHAM BAM it's over!

If you still have any cigs lying around, see them for what they are, make a celebration of getting rid of them.

I tell you this because I'm telling it to myself too :)

Hey Suze! I think you are spot on! Up until the Saturday night I thought I was fine within myself but the fear of going out with the lads without smoking was just too much for me. I resisted for so long but after a few drinks gave into the temptation. After that night, I didn't have or crave any cigs until today. Don't know why, a collegue was having one & I asked if I could have one. Did I enjoy it? No, tasted horried & felt sick. After that I knew I was ready to quit again but this time feels different. I'm not fearing it anymore. Something has just clicked, I may have smoked for the last 19 years but I DO NOT want to live the rest of my life as a smoker. How are you getting on? :)

Hi Leeroy,

If you want to find an excuse, there will always be one. I know you didn't intend on smoking again... But you did. The only way to beat this beast is by fully coming to grips with the fact that over is over. N.O.P.E.

Hey Leeroy I thought something had happened because you'd not been on.....welcome back my positive (even in temporary defeat!) buddy, as Alex says...zero tolerance from here on in! Glad you still seem happy in yourself, a glum Leeroy would be bad :)

Gutted for you that you caved on your birthday! I did think that it was a bit soon for celebration type do's and not being tempted. Never mind you have done it before you can do it again and this time you will have learnt a valuable lesson.
