Feel like rubbish again today.. Don't even feel like smoking just feel like I need nicotine... Just wish igave upcd turkey like the other times although they we're unsuccessful quits i never felt this rubbish... Feels like iv had to quit all over again..and it's bin 3 days since any nicotine has been near me. Just wondering wen will I start to feel the benifits of giving up.. Cuz I'm nearly at my 3 months and felt non of the benifits yet.. felt miserable since..

I feel exactly the same. I cut down to 7mg patches 3 days ago and am wondering why I bothered. Since the beginning I've been depressed and tired and absolutely nothing is getting done. I wake up in the morning and tell myself I'm going to do this and that but I'm lucky just to make cups of tea and watch dvds. I'm sorry I didn't manage going CT, at least I wouldn't have any nicotine to keep me feeling like this.

Sorry to hear that you're both having rough days. The only advice I can give is to stay strong, focus on something else/new (like exercise, worked for me!) and that it WILL get easier. I'm only at week 6 but luckily enough I can feel the benefits already, I guess it just takes different amounts of time for different people. Hang on in there, you're doing so so well.

In 2 days it will be 2 calendar months for me smoke free. It's been 20 days I believe w/o any nicotine at all.

I used the patches. I stopped the program 2 weeks and 2 days sooner than they say to.

For about the last week my symptoms have started all over again. After I dropped the patch I was fine but not now.

My sleep is screwed up again, I have worse cravings then I've ever had and all I want to do is sleep! This is basically exactly how I felt when I first stopped so I guess this is part two of my quit. I've almost lit up 3 different times but did not and I will not.

I understand how you guys are feeling because I'm right there with you. It past the first time so now we just have to hang in there long enough for this to also pass. Stay strong everyone, we can do this!!

It's crap ain't it una... Was suppost be spending the day in the library to disunion work and research for me uni course I'm doin.. Me brain feels that fuzzy iv just not botherd.. So will feel like crap tomora at uni as done nowt for my project and spend 8 hrs staring at my ov screen lost... Let's just hope it gets better for us.. As iv decided if I go back to smoking it will be forever as will not be able to go thru the 2 month iv had ever again... And I don't want to do any ov them.. So my only option is push on ahead and hope that there is a light at the end of the tunnel for us...

Yes it feels like I'm quitting all over again so it made me think why did I bother with NRT when this prob would have passed by now.. I was on the 10 mg and fort Sod it might as well do it now as I won't be giving the patch for ever.. I'm cuming into my 3rd month now and was only just staring to feel normal again... But I'm back to square one again.. Having all the same symptoms as u

Don't we make a cheerful trio :-) It feels like I'm back at the very beginning as well. I'm just always glad when it's near bedtime and I can go to sleep and hope it will be better tomorrow. Trying to find things to do to fill the days is hard because I don't have any energy.

Funny, before I stopped smoking I had loads of energy and even after 50 years I didn't have a cough. Still don't have a cough but everything else seems to be falling to bits :-(

Shelly, So sorry to hear you are feeling like me because I know that's bad!

Sounds like we are in the exact same situation. You can count on me for support so feel free anytime and I'll do the same. We can get through it. I understand you saying if you were to start again you would just smoke forever. I said the same thing and I mean it. That's more reason not to start I suppose, which btw I'm not going to do and I know you'll make it as well!!

Me too. I would never put myself through this again. I haven't even had any cravings but the nicotine withdrawals are making me want to give in. If I felt one bit better in any way then at least I'd feel it was worth it. I'll keep trying fo today anyway :-(

I gave in and poured a large brandy. I don't know why but the edginess makes me want a drink. As I don't drink very much that should put me to sleep early and if I suffer tomorrow who cares. I'm suffering anyway :-) Lets hope it eases up tomorrow

Right you two! It WILL get better! I think you are forgetting that you are both early in your quits and don't be so hard on yourselves and dont expect too much either. The fact that you have both got this far is great and what is all this effort about if you cave in and smoke you dont want all this to be for nothing do you? Anyway I want you both as my quit buddies. Keep reading the posts and keep posting it is therapeutic I have found.:)

I can't see me ever buying a packet of fags again unless my health gets worse, which it has been since I stopped smoking. I came back to UK to look after my 90 year old mother who smoked 40 a day for many years. When she died it had nothing to do with smoking and her lungs were fine at the time of her death. Since coming here I live an isolated life. When I went to buy my patches yesterday I met someone who had stopped smoking over a year ago and she said that life had gone downhill since then.

Its not easy and it probably never will be, well not for a very long time at any rate. I could quite happily light a fag up right now. But I'm not going to. I will get through today and then see what tomorrow brings.

May God (or any other spiritual belief system you hold) give you strength. You all deserve it.

Love, Esso.

Una, I think you are really struggling at the moment.

I can only say to you that it has got to be the best decision, to never smoke again, THAT would make your life go downhill I believe.

Yes Haze, I am really struggling and it's more than just the no smoking. Living in an apartment full of memories is depressing enough and never talking to anyone from one week to the next except the girl at the checkout or in the chemist. I can normally cope with it because I have a lot of hobbies but I don't have the energy or the concentration to do any of them. I can't even make a decision on a painter and decorator because I don't trust my judgement.

I know I won't smoke again because I haven't even missed it but I didn't know it was going to make me feel like this.

I'm in the same way u are... I live on my own too.. I don't work due to being made redundant.. I do go uni twice week but that's it.. I do hobbies my self but since giving up I'm too tired to do them I manage an hour of Zumba yesterday and feel so tired today.. like I said b4 I don't want to smoke but iv never felt so sick... But we got keep our chin up.. I'm nearly on month 3 so will see how I feel then
