Hi all, yes its fleetwood here. Im into hosp tomorrow for an op on shoulder but have been told not to smoke on day. I know i can do that but its after that time when im home and get bored whith stuff difficult times have been happening at home. Will not be able to drive for 2weeks or until i feel im in control. Obviously we all do things differently when quitting and most of all mindset and positiveness which i kind of dont have but then do i. Because of personal stuff going on my OH is now constantly smoking in the living room and cant do a thing about it. On the other hand this should put me off to a point so tomorrow not one puff and i only have my puffer with no nicotine doodahs in it. I will use my loz when i come out as only day surgery . Why is it soooooo hard. And yet i know before ive got to 4months but then the nhs cant help u after 12weeks if u on loz and i cant afford to buy them. Im thinking while im in hosp find out if they do a group session good idea i think. Anyway sorry a bit long winded. Jacqui

If it helps at all Tesco's own brand of lozenges are ok. Cost £6.95 for 72 x 4mg. Half the price of the others and just as good. Sometimes on offer as well. Cost the same as a packet of fags

Wishing you well for tomorrow.

Hi Jaqui, and good luck with your op tomorrow, will be thinking of you.

And as to mindset, you KNOW you have it or you wouldn't have got to 4 months on a previous quit. ALL your quits last longer than mine ever have so you know you can do this. I am just happy to be back into week 4 and can feel a song coming on, so plug ya ears quick lol  or you will need an ear op too :(.

You can do this Jaqui.

Wishing you all the best and sending big ((hugs)),

Zoe :) xxxx

Hi Jacqui

Best of luck for the op. And best of luck with trying to stay off the fags after. If you've done it before for 4 months, you can defo do it again :D

Thanks all, i havent quit yet but i guess theirs hope. Trying to recover from op. Bored to tears but have cut down. Went for a walk to drs in rain as cannot drive again yet. The nurse wasnt very kind in her mannerism so was in tears on my walk home. Never mind when she takes my stitches out in july if she as much gives me a bad time im going to complain. Rant over. Hi Jacqui,

If you have doneit before for four months then you can definitely do it again. At least this time you can say to yourself that no way do you want to go through those difficult first weeks again!

I think, though, too that your husband should be smoking outside, regardless of persoanl problems, if you have just had an operation and are trying to quit.

On the Lozenge from, my local chemist sell the Galpharm generic ones for £1.49 for 36 - the absolute cheapest, so maybe see if your local has them? I know they were more online. They are just as good as any other brand.
