You are about a week behind me. I had the sore throat which ended about 4 days ago. I don't think you should be too worried but if it lasts much longer, I would head back to the doctors.
I had the sore throat early in my quit too, along with flu-like symptoms, and my chest still feels sore when I breathe in. I think its all quite normal, but as Keith says, if it persists go back to the doctors. Hope you feel better soon, and don't let it disrupt your quit
Guess what arrived back today...yup, my throat feels like someone is using coarse sandpaper on the sides of it. Hurts like hell when I swallow. Just when I thought I'd gotten rid of it as well....
Im just approaching week 4, and since my quit have had a sore throat, well more like a tonsillitis pain really.
Been to docs twice, once just put it down to stopping smoking and then gave me antibiotics, which still haven't worked.
Has anyone else had this, im really starting to worry now, never had anything like this when i smoked, its really annoying me
Going back to docs tomorrow so will see what they say
Hi Rach, I was wondering how you were with your throat. I do know a lot of people I work with have had sore throats so maybe a bug going round? At least you are seeing the doctor tommorow and he can put your mind at rest you cant keep worrying like this. You dont say how long you have been on the antibiotics but they can take a few days to kick in. I am sure you will be fine it is sods law you should get this when you have quit. Well done for staying quit though. xx
Finished antibiotics today, and still no better, had some blood tests done to find out whats going off, really fed up now
Hope ya all well and thanks for the replys,
Will let ya know what results come back, im sure half of it is down to me worrying, im a bit of a flapper lol, doesnt help im a nurse so i know quite a bit
Today, my throat feels better, not great, but better. I rarely got sore throats when I smoked but I'm sure this is just a phase (or the Nicodemon playing with my mind) and it will pass, I hope.
You are right though, it is infuriating that to feel better, we have to feel worse first. Oh well, It'll be more than worth it.
