Hi everyone, It is 18 weeks today for me and I cant quite believe it. I feel as though I have overachieved if that makes sense? I just did not expect to get this far. I am so glad that I have, but I kind of quit without really thinking about it. I really believe that this forum has played a very big part in my quit and I really dont think I will ever smoke again. I have been really surprised by the amount of fails last week and I sympathise with them as I dont think I would want to go through the process of quitting again. It must just have been the right time for me.Anyway just thought I would let you all share my landmark and thank everyone for the support and of course the laughs.
18 weeks: Hi everyone, It is 18 weeks today... - No Smoking Day
18 weeks
Haze
Congratulations - brillian news! OMG - I still have almost 9 weeks to go until I get to 18 weeks, and that's virtually double my quit time already. Seems a lifetime away at the moment, but I keep everything as crossed and focussed as I can manage!
I take such heart from people like you, it keeps me motivated through what are still difficult times, even at 9+ weeks. You've done so well. You've only got to do approx one more third of the time you've already done, and you hit 6 months!
I also really feel for all those people starting again today. It terrifies me - there but for the grace that could be me tomorrow, next week, next month - we never know what's going to leap out and bite us.
Well done - hope you're celebrating with a treat!
Sx
Thanks Shazza
Thanks Shazza, Yes I am celebrating tonight, but not my quit, it is my sons 28th birthday so I have some lovely food and a bottle of wine. You have done really well too. What I will say is that you will notice it getting easier and easier for you now. 9 weeks is a really good quit and I get the feeling that you really want to quit so that is half the battle. Keep on posting and let me know how you are doing. When we are both a year quit the 9 weeks difference wont mean anything even though at the moment you feel far behind me, you are not.
Has 18 weeks really passed
Congratulations Haze - that's a really great achievement.
Some people quit and never look back / you are definitely one of those x
Thanks very much Karri. I dont take anything for granted I once stopped for 5 years and then started again. I must always be on my guard. I have said it before, it can be very complex this quitting lark!
Delighted and honoured to share your landmark with you Haze. 18 magnificent weeks! Well bloody done

Thanks very much Aitch. Why why why? I know why I did, I was going through a very painful divorce! Did it help? Did it heck. Be warned! You have to keep focused.
Well done Haz that fantastic you're doing really well
HEYA HAZE what a great achievment, its good to hear some people are suceeding in quitting, there has been far too many failed quits recently . its good to be reminded to not be complacent or take it for granted. I think the trick is to keep feeling that its worth it and is better than smoking and good news like yours keeps me on the right track .

Thanks Mash! It is worth it! We just have to remember why we quit in the first place. I know that I could not do this again, so I cannot fail because I dont want to die a horrible death. My uncle has emphysema, he is struggles to breathe and is on oxygen 24/7. That is no way to end your days. I dont want to get heavy but I have to be honest these are the reasons I quit.
