Hi Haven't posted much in fact I think its been once LOL:rolleyes: still stopped smoking but finding it really hard,two smokers in the house doesn't help.

Get really fed up with hubby,cos he still smokes in the car when I'm in it and I end up thinking I might as well smoke again cos now I'm a passive smoker,I don't say anything anymore cos he thinks I'm just being a typical ex smoker!!!

The last week I have found it really hard,but I have COPD and I'm 50 so would like to be around for any future grandchildren.

I saw an old lady in a hospital a few weeks ago that couldn't even get her breath to reach for a cup of water,and that scared me big time!! so with that mental picture in my head I keep plodding along....but right now I could sit out in this lovely sunshine and really enjoy a fag....but thought no I will log on and keep motivated but OH boy its tough right now,so have popped a lozenge in the mouth and sitting here talking to anyone who is going to read this.

Have heard of the three month struggle before and got through it last time but caved in at 4 months last time.....6 months after that couldn't breath again,always out of breath and cough cough cough...now I have my breath back and could run to the end of my road...so I'm plodding on, did think of buying an electronic cig yesterday so that I could feel like I'm having that fag in the sunshine,but think maybe that may be a bad idea???

This forum is great for keeping me motivated....weight gain is nearly 2 stone, so on a diet as from Monday..I feel huge and think that maybe swaying me back to the fags but the thought of being a slim non smoker thats the way to go for me lol

Amanda you can't start smoking again now. You have done so well to get this far. COPD and smoking is such a bad combination, just keep picturing that old lady and remember that could be you and non of us want that.

Still early days yet but you have already noticed how much better you feel and that is only going to get even better. You will find it starts to get easier as time goes on so stick at it.

I personally would not advise the E Cigs. Seems to much like smoking to me. We need to cure the habit not re-inforce it. Stick to the lozengers, gum or whatever you find best until you feel you can do without.

Amanda i know how you feel my Other half had family BBQ the weekend and 2 smokers there i found quiet hard yet weekend before i was at theres and didnt find it hard i think its because its MY comfort zone....plus as OH dont smoke and i live with my mom who does i find his house is more of a get away from the "nasty smoke"

and then last night i had a dream i smoked one with out realising i was smoking intill i had smoked it all.....woke up with sore throat hope its just a dream

Thanks for your replies of encouragement,sorry for delay in posting but I hadn't been back on, I'm still plodding along taking each day as it comes,have had two really stressfull days,ie daughter getting rushed to hospital,first reaction was I need a fag...but pleased to say I coped without it,and daughter is fine...I would like to tell you all,if I can do this so can YOU!!! so keep going guys we are doing it for ourselves!!! (Isn't that a song ???)

PS Didn't get an E cig either thought it was like going backwards in my journey,but still have a lozenge when really stressed.
