Day 9

I can't believe it!

9 days without smokes, apart from 1 and a half, last half like 4 days ago.

I've quit the habit!

9 days!!

And before that I was down to 2 a day so I've been off full time smoking for over two weeks.

Hang on in there guys, we CAN do it.

I'll be losing track of days soon :)

The lucid dreams are abating... kind of coming and going.

I'm still really tired though, somehow my insomnia seems to have been reversed.

My throat is ok, a bit gooey but that's good as better out than in.

I'm REALLY constipated though, despite having a litre of smoothie a day, water and only 1 coffee (2 yesterday as went out for lunch)

It's all good.

Try some fresh orange juice or prunes if you like them :)

Prunes

Orange Juice, that's on the list

Is that to replace the VitC lost by being a smoker?

I would ditch the smoothies and go for the solid fruit - more fibre!

You are right BillyO, but I'm getting fibre from Shreddies and seeded bread.

Ee, I'm tired :)

No, to help the constipation lol!!!

Seeded bread and shreddies are all well and good but more fruit and veg is better than anything. I dieted a couple of years back and was eating loads of fruit and veg and I tell you now, you will wish you were constipated lol!!

Well I come on here and get told how to really do it :(

Worth a line of its own:

Yeah, eating a lot of fruit generally makes you get the squits basically.

Have fun!! Lol

Cheers ladies.

Well it's day 10 now and all is well.

I keep kind of forgetting I ever smoked, last night's sleep was fragmented but there are a few reasons for that.

I'm eating so much better without the constant desire to scoff sweeties, apart from first thing but that just may be the patch coming to the end of its day. Having said that I have left one on for 2 days before now as I had run out. that was in the last quit. I have also put one on while I still had the day before's on (NOT RECOMMENDED!!)

All is well, never give up giving up! :)

Hi Bananaskin great name anyway i laughed so much with your post and Rochelle. I think you have to be a bit careful with orange juice. But wholemeal bread too much and that can make you constipated its just about getting it right. Plenty of water i always keep my water in a bottle and just swig from it time to time. Pears are good and veg chomp on a raw carrot rather than a goodie bag. They reckon you should cut out the coffee too much caffeine. Anyway hope your visit to the throne is a good one. Jacqui. Quit: 10.2.12.

Hi Fleetwood,

Glad I raised a chuckle :D

Oh God I think I've just gone from eating not enough to too much :D

I know we can't beat the good old-fashioned water.

Coffee is down to one a day, not so sure about overall caffeine though.

lol!! we have to have a good laugh on here dont we.

orange juice is really good for clearing you out, just dont drink too much i suppose lol

its the taste of tea and coffee i like, a hot drink is so comforting in the winter. i bought tetley decaf for evenings, its helped me sleep by cutting out the caffeine later on in the day.

Good diet and exercise - also reduce the banana skin intake as these can bung you up! :D

Hohoho!!, and a bottle of, nah scrub that. There's proven connections 'tween booze and nicotine.

They both act on the reward pathways of the brain.

Good to see you still keeping going. I'm on Day13, still hard.

Brilliant news. Have you been smoke free since the last time?

Slipped up 4 times, all because they were lying around and the habit took over.

Still they were all one-offs and there won't be any more.

5 days without a slip up.

It's still hard sometimes, it always will be at times. The cravings will go as the extra nicotine receptors die but it does get easier.

Chewing gum is really helping here. (regular mint gum)

Good for you banana. It's hard to break a life long habit but we will all get there x

Yes Karri my habit spanned 27 years apart from a 10-month break (frightening!)

We'll get there :)
