So here I am, after several months of convincing myself that I really do want to stop smoking, and one or two dry runs, crunch day has arrived...
I wouldn't say I am/was a heavy smoker, normally no more than 5 or 6 a day, but I don't imagine that's going to make the trials ahead any easier. Don't have anyone here to encourage, so will be hitting the forum and taki.g encouragement from other going though the same.
Had my last smoke 10pm, 30 Nov 2011, and am proud to say that I am a quitter! Well, coming to the end of day 1 I am... We'll see how things fair in the coming week. I'm anticipating that once I reach the back end of week 3, things will get better...
I've seen several comments about champix, not sure if that is a better option, but I'm going with patches and an inhilator... Not used it too much today, but I'm under no illusions that'll change...
Anyway, dinner is in the oven and I've no craving as yet... Just wanted to say hi and good luck to all that I'm joining

Thanks maxime... No serious cravings today, but not looking forward to tomorrow We'll see how it goes, need to sleep as I can feel myself getting worked up just thinking about it... Think you're right though, patches and inhalator...
You have made the right decision and just remember dont put too much pressure on yourself by saying never....I wont smoke today is much more manageable.
I used patches and lozenges so similar to your route and they have helped me, in fact I came off the patches after 2 weeks and have used just the lozenges since then.
