With 5 days of non smoking behind me,I am pleased to be heading into DAY 6 knowing that in 24 hours I will have reached a week.Things feel different (AT TIMES)as a non smoker.....like something is missing in my life. Then there are many hours I forget I was ever a smoker. But it is wonderful to be free again. As I write this I feel like yesterday at about this time -No interest in smoking a cigarette at all.And That Clean Smell At Home!!!!!...Terrific.I dont want to fail in this quit, and will keep posting till I feel confident enough to post less regularly. This forum is a godsend. It reinforces my resolve, and that is why I'm here.Of course I enjoy reading the many different posts on the forum...and the community spirit....Especially those members who regularly give advice/encouragement.Best Wishes To All...douglas.j

Douglas - that feeling of 'something missing' stays with you for a while from what I've read in here, place association is a big hurdle to overcome whether it's a restaurant, pub, hotel, holiday destination etc the brain will always remember you being at those places and smoking.

I guess it takes a long time to forget completely but at least the further down the line you go the easier the cravings/reminders get, I'm just over 6 weeks and rarely get a craving as such, more a passing thought in my head.

Good luck !

The Voice Of 6th Sense!!!!!

Yes Karri......I stopped on the spur of the moment Friday last week.I felt EERILY uncomfortable about smoking anymore.Even:eek: FRIGHTENED:eek:

Well it's now near to midnight and Day 7 is around the corner.Yes I did have the odd bad feeling today-But not a craving feeling. It was more like somethings not right...But of course EVERYTHING is right about not smoking. And i'm really happy to be on course for week 2.Thanks for your continued support and all being well will post in an hour or so...as usual...in this important early stage of my quit.
