A hundred smokers were asked if they thought they could live without smoking FOREVER. they all said no

When asked if they thought they could live without smoking for one hour they all said YES.

When i started smoking 'I quit living'. today Im taking one step in its recovery. no longer quitting. recovering. Mashx:cool:

not one puff ever

:cool:It took me to the brink of extinction to learn that THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS ONE CIGARETTE. FOR YEARS I SMOKED JUST TO AVOID THE DISCOMFORT OF NICOTINE DEPLETION FROM THE LAST ONE I SMOKED. .....THE AHH SESATION IS JUST THE RELEIF OF FIXING THAT DISCOMFORT.. THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO REMOVE THAT VILE CHEMICAL FROM MY STSTEM FOR 72 HRS AND I 'LL BE FREE OF THAT DEPENDANCY. THEN ITS UP TO ME TO REMEMBER THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS ONE CIGARETTE.... IF I MESS WITH THIS I WILL HAVE TO SMOKE FOREVER...... MILLIONS OF THEM ALL DAY AND EVERYDAY.... NICOTINE IS A POWERFUL CHEMICAL NO WILLPOWER CAN CONTROL IT ITS EITHER OR. I WILL NEVER BE STRONGER THAN NICOTINE IT WILL ALWAYS BEAT ME . BUT FORTUNATELY IT HAS NO INTELLIGENCE AND HAS TO DO WHAT IT DOES.BUT I DONT. I DO HAVE INTELLIGENCE AND THAT IS HOW I WILL RECOVER FROM THIS HORRENDOUS ADDICTION:cool: MASHX

THANKS FOR GUIDING ME TO WE QUIT LINKS IM READING AND LEARNING AND UNDERSTANDING AND PRACTISING AND PRACTISE MAKES PERMANENT AS THEY SAY...MASHX

no more patches for me

Well im nearly through my first day of recovery using cold turkey approach. just spent the last week educating myself and fully understand what nicotine addiction is and how it works.. have given up using patches because they deliver nicotine and its that chemical thats the problem... as soon as i hit rocky ground i reach for a superior form of nicotine delivery and smoke its too easy. given up being fooled.... so far today its gone well , light headed and spaced out, but no wall climbing craves.did go to shop earlier and skipped buying tobacco, so thats a cue i can cross off my list as done. i just dont want to smoke..... i think i'll change my signature details too as no longer appropriate.

Hey, good luck mash.

I'm doing my quit cold turkey, I won't lie and say that it's a piece of cake, it's not, but when the light headed spells disappear it is easier, I wish you well

Well done Mash .....got your mojo back matey .....f**k the fags mate ....you are bigger and better than that .

Would agree with you about cold turkey if you can do it ....avoiding Nicotine full stop has to better for you .

Less than 4 hours to go and I will be entering my 7th smoke free day . Have been nicotine free for5 days now. One day at a time is all you need to focus on and each day will get easier, regard your quit for what it is :-

FREEDOM FROM A LIFE THREATENING ADDICTION.

I told u i'd be back......

So glad to be back in the game. i really found it hard to come back. Never want to learn lessons the hard way ever again. There really is no such thing as one cigarette, it comes with legions of em and you HAVE to smoke them..... vile.....just completed 26 hours cold turkey so different to using patches and havnt really had a struggle as i anticipated wont say its easy cos i dont want to tempt fate im doing it a minute at a time.sometimes and ticking off the hours and smoking cues overcome, like not buying any when im in the shop. drinking coffee. after my dinner.etc. THanks everyone for being here and supporting me to give it another go

sleeping a lot . and this morning woke at 4ish feeling calm and peaceful was surprised t hat i wasnt thinking of smoking as it was a perfect situation to smoke. noticed yesterday periods of tiredness so slept on and off as it was a bank holiday, feeling very good today.lots of energy due to eating properly i think. wrote a long letter to myself outlining how bad smoking had made me feel over the years and my reasons for wanting to be free of this addiction. because i dont want to forget and become complacent i might start telling myself it wasnt that bad..It was horrendous.
