What to say? I lost it – just hours off having done a full week. A million things going round my head but the main one is – I am sooooo stupid. Felt like I couldn’t handle the constant back and forth thinking about smoking, but now I am STILL thinking about smoking as in I shouldn’t have done it, what a waste, now I have to go through widthdrawal all over again, what if I cant do it again etc etc.
GGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
Crushingly disappointed with myself. How, HOW did I let this happen? Sorry all, you were so great. Don't know what do to except start again.

BUT..... don't let this spoil everything you've achieved. How many have you smoked? Put it down to experience and carry on - it doesn't mean that you can't keep trying.
Don't beat yourself up about it - that will put more pressure on yourself. Think of it as a blip - I know you can do it!
awww lulabelle, it happens! you just have to keep trying! dont get down on yourself just carry on! alot of people try to quit many times before they get it right, you can do it hun...please dont give up on yourself!!

hi lulabelle,
You sound so unhappy now you have smoked! I can relate to that feeling for me in past attempts! .......... keep hold of that thought and what you have just posted...... throw away the rest of the packet! and carry on ...youve not lost anything
((((((hugs))))))) dont be sad Lulabelle. And dont be sorry, just do yourself proud by trying again. If at first you dont succeed try, try again (thats what my grandma used to tell em when i was little, not about smoking though lol!!!)
Just keep reading hun and try to understand what happened and how to tackle it next time. Get that positive energy back xxxxxx
Put the cigs down and chuck them NOW. Pleeeease. If you do it's a blip and probably won't give you massive withdrawal. If you carry on smoking for the rest of tonight etc it will.

Jo - hope by the last sentence of this you mean you werent smoking when you were little, not that your grandma encouraged you to smoke when you were little
Dale - i'm not a "blip" person, have had 5 (!) and for me, in less than a week quit that is a relapse - i need to do it clean, if you know what i mean, no smoking means no smoking and am worried if i said "it's a blip" i'd blip again in furture and think it's ok, when it's not.
Thanks for support everyone - no idea why you havent lost all patience with me by now, but very grateful that you havent. Somehow i WILL do this.
good for you, better that way really. I just thought if I'd caught you after just one!!
Never mind, dust yourself off and try again - and honestly, you silly thing, why on earth would we be losing patience with you. We're all here tp help each other!
Hi LULA Sorry to hear this,I hope you find the strength to overcome this it can be done ,be kind to yourself ,identify the trigger, remind yourself why you want to quit and give it another shot. ask yourself the question did the cigarette make you feel better or just bring releif to that 'constant back and forth thinking about smoking'? FRom reading your post its clear that smoking makes you unhappy. so why go back to something that makes you unhappy.I know its hard to stop but its even harder going back and forth that will make you miserable as well . a divided house cannot stand its one or the other its that simple. I have been there myself, im keeping my fingers crossed for you
Never mind. Pick yourself up, dust yourself down, and start all over again!
This back-and-forth thing has got to you before. Thinking about smoking all the time is more than you have been able to stick. Understandable. I obsessed. I obsessed until sometimes I thought I would go mad. I remember walking for miles by the c-a-n-a-l, crying and talking to myself and kicking things trying to drive the voice out of my head. So I really do sympathise.
But next time you have to go into it *accepting* that this is probably what will happen. You will obsess for a while. And you just have to ride it out, because the end result is worth the pain.
It gets better. I found the stretches of time when I managed not to think about it grew, until I suddenly realised it had been a whole day. A couple of days. Now I think if it wasn't for posting here I mightn't think of it for several days at a stretch.
So next time you'll be better prepared. Grit your teeth, get through it. I know you can, and you will!
