C'mon you 'orrid lovely lot ..... the wine and chocolate is long gone along with being couch blobs woe'ing our depressive moments and how we were putting on the blubber whilst filling up on cake, wine, crisps and copious amounts of booze. The things that got us through the first few weeks, huh!

We're now filling our time with running, cycling, hill walking, bird watching (has to better than the pink wine Christine got a taste for) badminton, Pilate's, spinning, holidaying ..... :cool:

So, if your around and occasionally read and spot this .... then leave a post here and let us know how it goes for you.

Hi All

I still think about those early days and the pain and suffering we all went through and how much we helped each other through it. I will always be grateful for your help and support.

It all seems so long ago now and i dont even think about smoking I do stick my nose here every once in a while to see how everyone is getting on and its nice to read about the continued success of so many people and the iminent success of the people in the early days of their quit. Long may it continue.

18 months !!

Hi all, still cant believe that I am now an ex smoker ! was walking around town today and seeing all the people coming out of shops reaching for the ciggies and all the shopworkers hiding in doorways- phew just so glad I dont have to live my life around having a regular nicotene fix !

I come on here occasionally and see a few old faces, see Pol ( my pal ) supporting loads, I dont know what I would have done with out the support and education that this site gave me. Yes , I am heavier as a result but prefer a few pounds gained over the £s lost in smoke.

Good luck to all newbies- it can be done !

You nearly ended up in a stir fry with chili sauce

Weight gain ..... 17lbs off now, for me.

Cricket season soon, Ducks .... you can cycle to your local club and back once again .... only, diet coke this time

Just popped in for the first time in ages and good to see the familiar names. I didn't realise it was 18 months already. So pleased that I gave up. It all seems a long time ago. Not smoking makes life somehow easier - there's no constant searching for the next place to have a cigarette. I can't see how smoking can be anything other than a load of stress for people nowadays as it's so anti-social that even finding somewhere to have a cigarette must be a major effort. Plus the cost! Funny I dreamt the other nght that I'd started smoking again and was so fed up with myself in my dream. Very relieved when I woke up.

Well done to all the Octoquits - you were - and are - a great bunch and gave tremendous support. Good luck to everyone starting on the road. You can do it and you will be very pleased you did.

Hi all sorry I am so late for our 18 months party, but I am still here and not smoking. Beeery very near to it several times but havent given in, I am envying all your positive vibes and upto a few weeks ago I was the same, but have had terrible craves recently. Still carrying the weight but doing gym 3 times a week when able.

No worries about you being late, (Dee to bring extra bottle of red to 2 yr party noted) your still smoke free and given all the awful crap you've gone through and are still battling with ... respect to you, lovely lady :cool:
