Good luck Debbie, I'm sure you'll be fine.

Do post tomorrow and let us know how you're getting on. As Akrri says we're here if you need a rant or a moan!

thanks guys. feeling positive. even tho my quit day isnt till tomorrow have been making lots of effort at cutting down. today i had 3. the hardest thing for me is first thing in morning but hubby was really supportive. He bought me a dressing table so i could avoid some of the bathroom battles and stress (3females vs 1 bathroom and a hubby who takes more time than me to get ready for work!) and even brought me a coffee while i was getting ready to avoid me having a back door step moment!

i have decided my last smoke was 3pm today. does that make it today my quit day or is it the first full day i manage? minor things i know...but all helps me get there!

what ever it takes!

i do! but he has been smoke free for 3yrs now and was so upset that i failed when he succeeded. i was pregant at the time so I stuck with it till about 4hours after the c section!

this time is for me tho rather than being told i need to do it.

woohoo! i am already a good chunk into my first smoke free day!

yay for us quitters!!!!!!:)

Keep at it Debbie - you can do it!

Sometimes the Champix takes longer to work too - I didn't notice any difference at all until Day 11, and I read about one guy who was on it for 4 weeks before it worked!

Good luck!

Sarah

Beginner

Hi all, glad I found this site. Hope I'm posting in the right place. After smoking for 35 years (and I'm not even 50 yet) I think I'm ready to quit. Been debating about it for the last few years. Well, I finally made the call and went to the NHS stop smoking clinic and started on Champix. The day before starting it I cut down to half my usual 25-30 smokes, by marking down each one and making myself wait at least an hour.

Today is the start of day 6. I was kind of disapointed this morning as I had 5 in an hour!! Don't know what happened just thought I was going to go completely back to it YIKES!! But, I think an hour has passed since and I'm going back to how I was the last few days. Has this happened to any of you?

Think the counseling helps, unfortunately I'll be leaving soon to be with family for a few months so I won't be able to go. That is a scary thought! Although my friend also recently quit so I guess I'll have her to lean on :-)

Anyhow, hopefully I'll be able to check in with you all and get some inspiration.

have a lovely day

Val

Val, I would always recommend starting your own thread. The problem when you tag a post onto someone elses is it can be missed. This means you might not get the support you should have got because people didn't know your post was there :(

There are a lot of people who take champix on the forum who will be able to answer any concerns you have. There is also a champix group you could join if you wanted to.

Congratulations and best wishes with your quit :)

Thank you! I'll try and figure out how where to go next :)
