Its day three for me, (Ive smoke for 21 years.) day 1 and 2 were actually a breeze, but for some reason Im struggling. Im not so much wanting a cig, but starting to get shakes and not thinking right.
Ive quit once for four weeks, but this time Im so determined and know why I started the last time I quit, I thought if I had just one cig I would have been okay, but I started again after that....
Ive downloaded quitnow on my androd and it seems to help...but today for some reason.....dont know why

You don't say how you are quitting. If it is cold turkey then day 3 can be the worst for most people as the nicotine withdrawal is at its stongest. Good news is it eases off now. If you are on NRT you may have too strong or too weak a dose.
Irrespective of which method day three can be tough. have a read of the Terrible Threes it may help you get through this bit.

Be really proud of yourself, you deserve to be.

Thanks Sian, that was a good read....my craving have gone down a bit now. Sadly Im at work, so I cant do much to stay occupied other than work Think ive made it through the rough patch...(for now)
It does not matter what you use to quit so long as it works for you. I have smoked for over 30 years and was up to 30 a day when I quit. I have tried every method in the past without success but the important thing is to keep trying until you find what works for you.
I also found that taking 10 deep slow breaths helped me as it was like smoking without the ciggy
Do whatever it takes to get you through even if that means eating for the next 245 hours.
Hi Forndog
Hopefully you're finding it easier by now, all the above is great advice. You smoked for a long time, so giving up isn't going to happen in a couple of days, it takes time. But the good thing is that each day that goes past something good is happening to your body, not something bad as it was when smoking!
Not sure you have to worry about quite as many hours as Karri says though!!

Hi Forndog,
When l first quit, l remember feeling disorientated and light headed, l had completely forgotten the shaky feeling, until l read your post. I used Champix, but l don't think it was them, that caused me to feel that way, l think it was more to do with the nicotine leaving my body. I seem to remember it lasted for several weeks, but it does go eventually.
Hi Forndog, on my third day I remember the only way I could get away from it was to sleep. I would either sleep on the couch or go to bed alot earlier than normal. I tink I did this for the first two weeks in w between working. As someone said to be honest it's not just the first three days it takes a while. I hope this will not discourage you but I must add that with the passing of each day you will feel better. That does not mean you will not want to smoke but more "I've got this far I'm not going to go back to the beginning"
It's hard and you'll ask yourself why you are putting yourself through this, well one day you will know this great feeling of being a none smoker.
You have done very well so far and when you go to bed each night congratulate yourself for another smokefree day.
Day 3 for me today and I agree that this has been the worst day so far even tho the day has just begun!! Cravings were really bad as soon as I opened my eyes. Think my body now realises the nicotine has all gone and it DEFINITELY wants more!! I too think you need to sleep alot. You can't smoke when you're asleep. Spent most of Day2 in bed. No cravings when you're giving it zzzz !!!
