I personally didn't have any taste issues except for the fact that my taste returned This forum has a vast amount of information, you can always use the search feature above! Here is a thread I found when searching for 'nicotine taste throat' hope this helps
Hi
I had that in the first couple of weeks of my quit.
It was a terrible taste from my throat. It felt like a bad gas was coming up my throat and I could taste a real bad taste.
I read on here that it was gases coming up from the lungs.
It soon passed.
Don't let it put you off it's just your body repairing the damage that smoking has done.

I think that's quite normal.
Don't be surprised if it gives you smoking dreams too - the taste can filter through to your subconscious.
Hang in there, though, it won't last. Just think of it as a full-on detox
Well done on getting this far, keep going!

In the first week I developed a meaty cough and what was coming up tasted vile....and I mean vile. I had never tasted anything like it before, it was very distinctive. I believe that is just the clearing process.
It's a good sign
I tried the links you gave me bella, I was trying to look at the YouTube video but it didn't work but at least it's not just me that has the bad taste.
Just hope it goes soon it is doing my head in.

I didn't but I think the shear volume of ginger biscuits I consumed would have masked anything bad. I did have a really sore mouth for a week though. Lots of things come out when we stop but it all gets better. Well done on day 3, well nearly day 4 down now hey.

Are you sure its not a metallic taste? A metallic taste would signal some bleeding in the mouth/throat which is common amongst smokers and people trying to quit. Best advice is brush softly, use mouth rinse, and chew a gum that promotes good oral hygiene.
