100 days quit for me today.....and 100 small steps towards my caribbean holiday :D The thought of the money and time I have wasted over all these years is part of what's keeping me going. My mum's having a difficult week health wise, she's just had a CT scan on her liver, and she's got to have one on her chest on friday. We get the results on monday, but it's not looking promising. But I will not use this as an excuse to smoke, as this would be entirely selfish of me, as in times past, reaching for a fag and a pint would have been my first port of call. Not this time though, I'm stronger than that now. Anyway, enough maudling on my part, this was mean to be a happy post :). Have a good day everyone x

Brilliant stuff. 100 that's a biggie.

Sorry about your Mother, been through 2 scans and 2 endoscopy's with mine in the last couple of months. And luckily for us it was only an ulcer and she's now fitter than ever. My fingers are crossed for you both.

100 days!!!!!!!!

How good is that, eh???

Well done my lovely - knew you could do it. You've been so determined and ploughed on through the bad times and you have come so far, it's great.

Looking back over the 100 days how have you found it?? Easier than you thought, more difficult??

What's the one thing you have learnt over everything else that you would pass on to a newbie?

(Hope Mum is o.k babe, let us know how it goes)

Hmmm, let me think about that.

How have I found the last 100 days. Honestly? Not that bad. Well, not as bad as I was expecting. I've never lasted more than 2 weeks before and didn't think I had it in me. Don't get me wrong, I've had some severe wobbles, but I made it though them, mainly from coming on here and venting my frustrations. Ive made it through xmas and new year unscathed (smoking wise anyway ), I regularly go to the pub and am not bothered about being in the company of smokers. A girl I work with has recenty taken up smoking again after giving up a few months before me. She doesn't think we know, but my sense of smell is so acute these days, I can smell it even through her mask of perfume. I've had to apologise to my other (non-smoking) workmates, that they had to sit next to me day in day out, reeking like that for the last few years.

Advice to newbies?

Come on here as often as you feel the need, or can. What I have learned on here has been invaluable. Read the links in other members signatures. Champix on its own wasn't enough for me, nor was my quit nurse or my friends and family. I needed the constant support/advice/friendship that I have found within the walls of this forum. Where else can you have a moan at 2 in the morning, and find there's someone willing to listen to you. It's these things together that has made this quit more sucessful for me than any other.

Thanks for all your support guys xx

Is that the same amnesia you get two years after giving birth that makes you want to do it again?? :D

Being serious now.... I agree with you. Some wobbles but nothing insurmountable. I am proud of you :)

Again, hoping to follow in your footsteps. Have gained 22 lbs since quit and am now a lard butt! Amazing how disgusting 22 extra lbs look on a bod. :( Keep me posted on how well you are doing @ gym; may give me the incentive to get moving.
