Silly me

After all this time I had 2 fags at the weekend, yes I was drunk, but that is really no excuse. I was fine upto today and today I can't stop thinking about them :(. I have no plans to get any or smoke any but how stupid of me, it is my birthday next week and I am going out with the girls next Friday night, dreading that now  . None of them are smokers and I intend to tell them all to stop me if I get drunk and try to buy some.

Silly, silly, silly me.

Oh no. Well nothing you can do to change it now so dont beat yourself up too much. Just know that if you do it again you are going to be on that slippery slope back to 20 a day.

I am sure you will be fine on your night out. You know you did it. Yo know you are cross with yourself for doing it. All you can do now is make sure you don't do it again.

Fact of the matter is :

You're not making excuses for yourself

You haven't though 'Screw it, I'll just buy a pack'

You've taken the necessary precautions to make sure it doesn't happen again (telling your friends).

That is pretty much the definition of a blip. You'll probably struggle with the physical craves a bit this week but if you're really enjoying being a non-smoker then it shouldn't get to you too much. Let the memory of the silly mistake fade in time, don't give it more importance than it deserves.

! Well, I agree. You haven't gone out and bought any. Punish yourself by suffering those craves! Seriously though, don't beat yourself up about it Bev, plenty of others have blipped and carried on. Stressing about it will only make it all seem worse. Cut back on the drinks if you think you need to for a while though but don't stop enjoying yourself, that would mean the nicotine has got one up on you!

Yep, silly silly silly Bev :)

Agree with the above, but I'd keep the blip fresh in mind and learn from it but not let it hang heavy. Not worth beating yourself up or worrying about the night out.

As for craves since .... you know they will pass. Small pay back for remaining smoke free once again.

Oh gosh, Bev :(

I remember when I was a smoker I did the very same thing through drink...excessive drink I may add...and not smoke for a few days. Real blips on my smoking career *sigh*

Got so bad that one of those episodes eventually led me to stop for good...just cos I wanted to

Be careful that your b/day isn't used to influence what your mind may hope for ;)

One of those extra x's that Fi put was my donation :)

Sorry to hear about your mishap Bev. My only suggestion is don't dwell on it too much and give it life with arms and legs. You will remember it I am sure so you will be aware in the future, that's your wonderful non-smoking future.

Well done for coming here to get some feedback, best way to help you get it out of your mind.

Happy birthday for next week.

I am getting there now!

When I smoked I was at a friends house, now she doesn't smoke, but boyfriend does. Went there again on Saturday night and smoked again!! Now I feel almost as bad as the first few days/weeks. I was sat watching TV last night with OH and thinking about fags, sat here now and thinking about fags. Don't think I will give in whilst sober, but I can hear myself "just smoke till your birthday and then you can stop again" arghhhh can someone please remove the nico monster that has appeared on my shoulder again

Can not talk to anyone about this, so thanks very much for listening and putting up with my selfish rant.

No more fag thinking Bev. I know it is tempting, especially after you have had a couple of blips. You are in danger of those blips becoming more often and before you know it you will be back on the old treadmill. Its not worth it and you have come so far it would be a shame to lose it all. Read some more tales from the quit and remind yourself why you stopped in the first place.

You are strong Bev. You will do it xx
