I'm sick of stuffin' me face just to give me something to do or take my mind of ciggies.
I can generally handle the Sugar Monster at home but it's harder when i'm at work, i can't just go off and do something else so have a big bag of evil sweeties on my desk calling my name

I posted about the same problem, I eat and eat and eat and eat, I actually ate until I threw up. That was until last Monday. I went to the garage before work and bought 2 large oranges and a packet of 6 muller light yogharts (I recommend the Cheesecakse flavoured one) they are excellent and on offer atm for 1.49 for the 6. I usually have 3 of these a day in work. Sounds like a lot but they are only 99 calories a pot so a lot better than sweets and buns and stuff. Also the orange is great becasue it puts your sugar levels back up again and plus, it makes you feel healthy.
Dont be being too strict with yourself, its still early days, if eating sugar is what you need then eat it. Once you are confident in your quit then go out for walks and excercise more.
ahhh the sugar demon is on the prowl  you have to distract your mind/hand from reaching for the sweets its no different to distracting from the nicorette demon sadly dont have the bag on the table put them away and everytime you want one make yourself wait another 10 mins and limit how many you are eating only put like 8 sweets in the bag and make sure your waiting an hour between each sweet
i have had to be really strict with myself as ive become a chocolate addict again  so ive put the choccys in the cubboard and also put a note i wrote to myself stuck on the bag saying "you dont want one really" and its working
Oh, God, I'm fighting the urge to stuff my face every waking second. And I'm craving all the bad stuff. I'm turning into a one-woman kitkat-consuming machine.
You/we can't keep up continuous sweetie intake though. Try:
Nuts/dried fruit/trail mix
Grapes
Rice cakes (although I think they're like eating cardboard)
Chewing gum
Satsumas (keep your fingers busy peeling the bits off)
Or you could try some of those little sugar free fruit flavour travel sweets/mints that you get in little tins (think you can get them in boots and some newsagents) which is better than the calorific tooth rotting variety.
I put on loads of weight because at first I ate for England pork pies, crisps, curries and Chinese and then my BP and cholesterol went up so I turned to sugar instead and I ate Choccy and fat free jelly babies and guess what, my cholesterol went up even higher, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr no one told me that sugar increases you triglycerides and that’s not good LOL just eat now and then worry about the weight when you have conquered the quitting, the weight does get lost eventually, well most of it does but mine keeps finding me again LOL
You lot have just reminded me that I've some pear drops in my bag
Now, where did I put the number for my dentist
All this talk of sweets just made me push a young lad off an old boys knee and punch the old pervert in the mouth, then proceeded to steal his worthers original toffees....................

:DI thought that was your knee John OMG though the soft worthers with, the chocoalte ones they are just delicious. Mmmmmm
Carol that is a good idea, I'll put all my rubbish food in a box (if I can find a big enough box) then put a note on it - Thanx for that one
At the moment I'm under a consultant at the hospital, he told me he'd rather I be overweight than smoking. I of course would much rather have a normal BMI and not smoke but hey ho that'll come, lets not run before we can walk

Oh forgot to add hubba bubba bubble gum - you know the one on the roll, that's fab and trying to blow the biggest bubble is just great  apart from when it splats over your face

Hmmmmm...............not sure that sort of thing is reccommended by the NHS  still I am sure he knows what he is doing!!!

I think what he meant was - I used to have a completely health BMI around 22 but now it's over 25 so in the 'overweight' catergory. I explained I had quit smoking and put on the weight. He said he'd rather I be overweight than smoke and that I'd have to put alot more weight on for it to have the same health effects as smoking did. Maybe he was just being nice
Sorry Tinks
My cheap attempt at humour, refering to your comment "I am under a consultant" I realise now it isn't big, clever or indeed funny.

It won't happen again (climbing back into my box)
Oh I gotcha now John, sorry I'm a bit slow on the up take (no change there then). No worries at all, certainly no offence taken. Although you are right it's not big or clever, well it wasn't last time I saw you  only joking
