Day 9 already. Last night was a test as friends came round and we shared a bottle of wine, which although isnt much alcohol, im such a light weight lad its embarassing how little before im tipsy, but didnt want to smoke.
I have changed my habits this quit, last time i would actively say that it was 'smoke time' a bit tongue in cheek so i would join my friends outside where they would smoke and i would use my nasal spray, but i was still taking part in a smoking routine. This time round even my friends have said they smoke less when theyre with me because i leave them to go outside - and i stay where its warm.
I had a MONSTER craving once theyd gone, even started thinking that i could just go down to the shops and get some tobacco, but i thought of others on here and didnt want to give in to something that wrecks my body.
Also reminding myself that there is NO doctor anywhere that would say smoking even in moderation is safe - hows times have changed!

well done you for ignoring your monster craving... I don't know about you but I am finding that I don't have very many craving now, but when I do they are pretty overwhelming at times... I mainly get them during my meals, its odd. I guess that the only thing within my routine that I can't change, we all still have to eat. My sleep is finally settling down now too.
I really find that thinking of everyone on here makes me overcome my cravings much more easily. I just don't want to fall by the wayside when everyone is doing so well and being so supportive!
My cravings are much fewer these days, but still when they hit the only word is monster.
Well done for overcoming temptation and reaching day 9. Keep going, the road gets smoother!
good for you. i am on day 9 myself and it is definatly easier than day 3! so i know with each passing day it gets easier!! for the first time this morning i got mad and didnt think to have a cig! i realized this about 15 min after i calmed down it comes and it goes but i have faith in myself to make healthy choices fir me and my son!! he is more important!! good luck to you and way to go on fighting those tough cravings!! we can do this!!
Welcome to reality, smoking is not good for us but we spend years and years trying to convince ourselves that we are not going to do too much harm to our bodies and that we will be the odd one out that we sometimes hear about who lives to be 90 with no cancer in sight, nope I don’t think so because it is rare to the point of not happening unless you maybe have some kind of immunity to the 100s of toxins in tobacco in whatever form we take it in.
You will never regret quitting smoking I promise, not only will you feel better physically but smoking is also mentally debilitating as it kills brain cells as well.
Keep it up and use the forum there is no where better to give you help and support.
