Hello people!

Well, today i have been quit for nearly 3 months. I am entering the 4&5 month thread a day early, but I DONT CARE!!!

The last 2 weeks have been probably the hardest so far, but i am also hoping that now i have passed that horrible mark, it will get better!?

3 whole months- i cant believe it!!!:D

And of course i have to thank everyone on this forum for helping me out so much, you are all so supportive!!

Only 9 months to the penthouse!!!!

Hi Claire, you are now entering the light zone compared to the twilight zone, the time scale you have just left was for me the worst of the worst and I truly thought I wouldn’t get past it, but like you I finally came through the tunnel and out the other side.

I can’t and want say it was plain sailing from then onwards, but it was a lot easier, for me at least.

Have fun in your new room and stay focussed on the quit and it can only get better xx

Thanks Jam,

I have added to my signature in celebration!!

Thanks for the encouragement, i am looking forward to it being a tad easier, although i am aware that i need to remain focused on the quit.

Its odd- i thought that when i became a non-smoker i would turn into a different person...but actually i am still me, still Claire, just without a ciggie in her mouth and stinking of smoke!

Yea I thought that I would change into someone else as well but my OH reckons I am still the worst woman in the world to live with, that’s a joke cause I thought and he did that I would turn into a living monster who would be bad tempered all the time and thank god I didn’t, maybe we don’t change only scare ourselves into thinking we will.

You are going great guns so don’t worry the better person is the one that will shine through and like you say a better smelling one at that, well done you onwards and upwards for always xx

Hey Claire get you crashing into the next month!!! You really have seemed to turn a corner these past couple of weeks and I salute you me lovely!

I can't wait to feel like you do and for the fog to lift slightly, as you know I'm a mere 20 days behind you and have strived to be where you are since I started on this journey - in fact you're a bit of a role model for me

I on the other hand have changed since quitting, I am much more short tempered etc and fed up most of the time which is why I can't wait for things to change as I want the old me back! Not the smelly one though!

So well done hon and you're steaming ahead!

Hi Jane, sorry to hear you are still struggling. I can honestly say that 20 days makes all the difference. I KNOW you can do this, i KNOW you wont fall off the wagon-as long as you put steps into place to help you. In regards to the short temper and fed up, have you read the links that explain about that?

I cant remembe where they are, but have a click in my signature and hunt around for it. Basically i read that mild depression when quitting isnt uncommon, i know for a fact that i am suffering with it. I know that many people have suggested getting a bit of exercise, as it helps. I must admit that i am not keen on exercise at all, but am planning on starting jogging once i have found a decent sports bra! I'll let you know how it goes and if it increases my endorphins and puts my in a better mood!

OMG, i'm a role model??? Wow, thats a lovely thing for you to say Jane, i just hope i can live up to it!!

You're doing amazingly Claire!! I think we can allow you into the Months 4 & 5 forum a couple of days early :).

As Jane said, you really are a role model and you're living up to that easily!! You're always around with a word of encouragement and that means a lot to us relative newbies. Thank you :).

Onward and upward Claire!! There's no stopping you now!!

Just saw this too, how wonderful Claire! Specially because you had a few tough days some weeks ago... it's great to see someone get through it! Really helps everyone else I think :)

Can't wait to be getting further along... will have completed 2 months and starting on month 3 in a few days time and I'm starting to see worse if anything! But you've shown me that can pass... I hope you feel super proud of yourself!
