I think it will take a while for our lungs to get back to a normal state and that black gunk is the tissue repairing itself and clearing away all that nasty stuff we used to take in each time we lit up, so i would not worry.
Well done on day 24 though, keep going cos you know you can do this.
That does sounds very unpleasant but it's prefectly normal. Things like that can come up at any time within 3 months of the quitting date (at least that's what I've read).
I've only got a scratchy throat 7.5 weeks into my quit! You would have thought it would have come before but smoking's played all sorts of tricks on your body and mind for years and years so it'll so some pretty wierd stuff after you stop!
Eitherway, everytime you cough up gunk just think of how great it is that you're not hurting yourself anymore and your body is healing itself
That sounds unpleasant chick. It must just be all the crap on the lungs getting cleared. Scary to think that that stuffs down there, but better out than in as me mother would say.
Sound horrid Gary, but it's to be welcomed. It's just your body's natural means of clearing gunk out starting to work properly again. Rejoice that it's happening :).
