I thought I could hold the post till end of the week but here I am.
Yesterday, Day 10, was a challenge. Hope today, Day 11 isn't quite as raw. Oddly I had more cravings in one day than I think I have experienced since the big 3 day withdrawal. It was bugging me all day. I felt it in my arms first like a wave, a weird tingle (think Deano gets the tingles too lol) followed by a huge craving, major agitation, pacing around followed by eating anything I can get my hands on 2 deep breaths each time helped a bit.
Just thought it strange the cravings would become more intense, not longer, just more intense, further from quit date?
Todays mission find a new type of sweeties to try. Excessive sugar free mints and gum = you know what
I better try get to sleep soon. Have my relaxing cup of Camomile tea (smells like dung) and prepare for a whole night of crazy dreamland. Hope the dreams are enjoyable tonight

I have to say that in a lot of ways the first 3 days are the easiest. Yes the physical symptons are hard but soon done with. After that is soooooooooo much harder. That is why you have to be on your guard at all times, no matter how long you have quit. I would not like to say that to any newbies to not put them off but sadly it is true. Any of us who are sreial quitters ( me) & over some time ( me) now its true. You always have to keep your guard up but the things worth fighting for in life (you health, YOUR life) are worth the effort involved. yes????? Of course yes. Bening faced with an early deathh is not nice beleive me so do all you can to avoid it OK?????
I had the same experiences during my quit Andy and some of my worst days were during the second week of my quit.
I haven't read all your posts yet, so am not sure what method you used to quit, but i can tell you that if you hang in there, most of the physical reactions you are having to quitting will likely be gone in a week. In my case it was around day 18 when i started to feel like a normal human being again, read my past posts. I had a few skin of my teeth moments, but posting about it helps.
Be strong. You've done the hard part already, now you have to just keep doing what you are doing.
Second week for me was bad. Craves, anger, mixed emotions, sleep disturbance..... can't recall tingles though *wonders if missing that effect is worth 'going back for'*

The nicotine may be out from your system but there's still a lot of mental 'getting over' which your aware of, just keep reading ahead of your quit time, educating yourself and ducking and diving to stay ahead.
Staff off sick, staff being verbally abused by service users needing emotional support, me getting verbal abuse from service users, service users having emotional breakdowns, service user being robbed of packet of cigs by local children & needing reassurance, missing half my food break and keeping the shift going,,,,breathe,,,,and didn't have a craving for a puff. Kept pretty calm inside too.
Work is a major contributor to my stress and mental health but today was a victory over the smoke monster. Andrew 1 - Smoke Monster 0
Also not near as many cravings as Day 10 but I ate nearly 500g of midget gems today :rolleyes:
It's almost midnight and I can hear the sweet sound of Day 12.

Sounding a little like my day at work today - very stressy but I munched my way through a largish bag of peanuts and raisins instead
Well done you - the more you overcome the easier it is next time but hoping you don't have another bad day for a while
Considering how EVIL this addiction is, i really wouldn't worry about how your feeling, it's completely normal to nibble on random things in the beginning. I snapped off some chocolate everytime i craved.......i went through an enormous amount of chocolate! It served it's purpose and the craves went away lol.
The mental games pass too. Just keep doing what your doing and be proud every step of the way.
Day 11 today for me too and i get where you are coming from. I think i described it in my quit journey in the Reason section as being back on the old crave wave which threw me off at anxious alley and that then spat me out into anger street then would start all over again. I think you are doing fantastic to cope with your work situation, and you go for it with the lollies and snacks.
I am told all of this does get better so i hope it does soon for you too.
@PurpleGirl - I know so well what you mean after reading your post. It starts off as a CraveWave (patent pending lol) > AnxietyBurst > Disinhibited/Angry :eek: I've been a bit too vocal at work recently for my liking but I think it's just I am realising if I have the strength to quit smoking I also have the strength to not let work stressors make me ill either and ressolve rather than complain, moan and tolerate. All about change and learning new skills.
