Okay guys after having a complete biffout on day1 off the patches i think i can safely say i have got over the worse. I realise just how close i came to blowing 3 months of hard-work and determination to beat the dreaded weed. Seriously folk's i am totally astounded to have come this far and want to thank all folk that have encouraged me in this journey. Reading everyone's stories and comments has been an inspiration for me to quit for good. Cheers!

Well done you, I'm coming up to 3 months on Friday...so am with you all the way....although have gone back on the gum for a bit, as the cravings have been bad lately.

Having said that I still believe it is better to have a piece of gum that go and buy a packet of fags!!

You know Kitkat pal i have honestly not kept a check on how long it is now dont know if thats been a concious thing or me just having a p poor memory lol. :D I must be around 16 weeks which seems yonks now.

I read a topic on this forum think it was 'post patch musings' and could relate to a lot of what was been said. My patch was my friend for those 3 months and sometimes saying cheerio to something that is that personal to you is quite traumatic. Well it was in my case lol..... :)

hi al

can only be a good thing if your losing track of time of quit ..i have to double check too sometimes. Feels good that.

post patch musing..not heard of that ...I felt up & down for a few weeks after coming off patch myself....is it a mind thing then or still then or still the small ammount of nicotine withdrawal what causes it ..always wonder that?

16 weeks & over for you then..well done Al :)

lol aye the body is a strange thing aint it bud? Never craves anything that is good for you.... cigs, beer and chocolate pah. (Ma doonfall in the past)

Yeah felt up and down myself since coming off t' patches.. Whole lifestyle change was required you know.. excercise, watching the diet, changing routines etc. Hard to do and probably harder to maintain.
