Day 3 - difficult but trying to get through it

I was really not looking forward to today as I have had to do a night shift at work and I have alot of triggers for going and having a fag. Been a bit of a struggle but not nearly as bad as I expected it to be. The champix seems - at present - to be a miracle cure but I would still like to hear more peoples experince of it.

Thanks.

I've found Champix brilliant I'm in my 6th month now and definitely wouldn't have made it without it.

hi i'm also using champix. i quit after taking the tablets for 11 days. i'm on day 5 smoke free now. At first i didn't think they were doing anything as i was still smoking as normal but by the end of the first week i had cut down from my usual 20 cigs a day to around 10 as smoking was begining to make me feel sick. Although i still had the urge to smoke i thought i'm gona have to stop and see what happens. The champix must be doing somthing as its been 5 days now and i've managed to control any urges. I'ts still really hard but i keep telling myself that all the nicotine has now gone from my body and it will get better with time. That seems to work. I've tried several times to quit before using patches and gum but this is by far the easiest quit i've had.

i'm still getting the urge to smoke but know i'm not going to this time. it feels really weird but i think i've cracked it this time. i also think champix at the moment seems like a miracle cure.

As you can see from my signature - 2 failed previous attempts and now I have a smoke free, stress free healthy life thanks to Champix.

I couldn't have got throught the first few fag-free days without the Champix and this forum. I didn't enjoy my last week of smoking while taking it so have a bad final memory of my last smokes. Unfortunately it didn't agree with me long term but it takes the edge off the cravings and really helped me break the habit.

Well done on getting all the nicotine out of your system - withdrawal is now over :D It will get easier from here on, just stick with it

Thanks very much for the advice and support - it really has made the few bad points much much easier to cope with. Day 5 now and its getting easier but can't get complacent.
