Hi. Just think about today. You can do anything for one day right? Log on here as often as you can and read the posts. Consider getting some nicotine gum or lozenges - you can use them at the same time as the patches. Search for Celebrity Quitters on youtube and watch the first episode.
I believe you can make it as a non-smoker.
Hey Mo
Hope today is going ok. Just take it one hour at a time, you can do it... read and post on here as much as you can, sip lots of water, and check out this site for info and inspiration
I found the info on there about the first 72 hours really helpful - good to know what to expect.

HI
I found the first day fairly ok, with lot's of water, fruit juice, reading on here and keeping busy but most importantly of all a positive mental attitude really works the best.
Good luck and keep posting on here.
Hi Mo
Fantastic getting day 1 over, good for you! Doesn't it make you feel good?
Catherine
Yes. so good feeling really active and great.

No more smell in the house.

Hi Mo
Well done deciding to quit the fags
Below is my standard welcome and advice post which I try and give all new members
Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good
You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathising with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad
Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be
This link is good for the psychological part of quitting whyquit.com/whyquit/A_Sympt...
Post often to let us know how you're doing, to rant, rave have a moan whatever you like pretty much anything goes on here OK

Day 2
Hi
Both me and my husband are on day 2, been trying of and on for years, absolutely determined this time we're going to do it.
It's the difference between a summer holiday or not.
I'm 41 and been smoking since school but I am going to do it, using the patches they do take the edge of, every now and then I get the craving but I know it will pass and I'll forget.
Hang on in there, we can do it.
Hi Susanmc & hubby LOL.
Well done on your decision to quit. It is without a doubt one of the best things you could ever choose to do
Day 2 is brilliant & they soon add up honestly.
