Week 2 Quit Diary

Well, that's day 8 out of the way, and on a quit level it wasn't too bad.

On a personal level the day sucked, and I think it had the effect of me using 1 extra bit of gum. So I feel my quit is progressing nicely.

The craves have maybe temporarily eased right off, and I'm optimistic

HI Azman

Good for you! It's an achievement to get through a rotton day and still make progress with the quit. That's massive!

Keep going and week 2 will be over before you know it!

Well done, getting through a difficult day, without blaming it on the quit is great.

You sound really strong, so keep up that positive attitude and the weeks will start to fly by.

And straight into day 9. It's Saturday and its warm enough to get the toys out, so I'm off to change the engine oil in the boat, and the fuel filter.

Boating will be a massive trigger, but id rather die than give up The boats.

Well it's now day 10, and mother's day.

Cravings are controllable, and I've left off the gum for 18 hours now, although I'll carry it round with me, I'm going to try to drop the gum now.

happy mothers day to all you mothers.

Day 11

I'm back on the gum or at least I've had a piece. I woke up in the middle of last night and could have screamed, the cravings were that bad, I now no longer believe the 3 minutes thing.

Oh well day 11.

There is no way I can loose sleep on a work night like that again, so may try to drop the gum in a week or so. Potential problems loom on Friday when I go to a smokers stag night.

Well Done Azman! :D Keep going you're doing really really well!!! Don't beat yourself up about the gum, it's still early days. I'm on Day 8 today and feeling quite good. Seeing big changes in things.

Good luck!

Woo hoo, day 12.

I'm noticing a smidge of weight gain going on. I'll deal with that later. In the mean time ill be proud.

Some wicked cravings at the moment, but I'm dealing.

Day 13 eh...

Sprang out of bed, I genuinely feel pretty good today. Slight gnawing sensation in gut, but nothing else.

Looking forward to week 3 already.

day 13 you're doing great and glad you're feeling good today

Well its the last day of week 2, and time to collect my thoughts before heading into week 3.

I've saved somewhere in the region of 80 quid.

I've bounced out of bed every morning.

I don't smell of smoke

It no longer matters when it rains at teabreak.

And theyre the immediate benefits.

At the moment the cravings have faded and I'm using much less gum. So its all good.

If you're considering quitting, and you read this ... you can do it, its easier than you think. Keep up the good work the rest of you.

azman I'm loving your little blog. I'm on day 9 and love not having to get wet or cold (or both!!) on a fag break!

And you are right, it is easier than you think (for most people) I think if you really want to do it and make that decision yourself, not other people pushing you into it, then it makes it easier to succeed.

JUST DO IT!!!!!!! :)
