Well I can honestly say that stopping smoking has been one of the most positive things I have EVER done. I am at day 41 now and feel fine, no cravings and my emotions seem to have settled down to almost normal. I have saved £235 and not smoked 835 cigarettes!!!! Weeks 2 and 3 were sh*te if I'm honest but all is good now.
I think it was really important for me to do this cold turkey as I really believe that using any of the nrt methods is just prolonging the agony of actually getting off nicotine for good. I know everyone is different but I'm sure I would still be smoking now if I hadn't gone ct.
Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Hi, 41 days is fantastic and happy to hear that you are feeling good too. I also went CT but I do believe that it does not matter what method, what matters is choosing not to smoke.
There may still be some ups and downs to come, but I am sure you will be able to cope. Stay strong, keep reading and keep posting.
I am having a really good day thanks, loads of newbies in and I have been posting like a mad woman, it really helps me strengthen my quit. Hope I haven't scared anyone off
Yes the mind can start playing tricks like "just have one puff", "you have done so well, one will not hurt" etc etc All LIES. Glad to hear that you are prepared, I am sure you will be fine, but remember we are here if you need us, and feel free to PM me if you want.

Yay! Haven't seen you for a while CB, glad to hear all is rock n' roll
I've stopped for 61 Days, I've not smoked 916 cigarettes and I've saved ... actually I can't tell you what I've saved as the Quit Keeper programme on my desktop has just broken.
Agreed that I couldn't have stopped unless it was cold turkey either. I was a nicotine addict so continuing to feed myself nicotine doesn't help me quit nicotine. Patches, gum, etc., blah, have never worked for me in the past.
I had a good run in the gym last night, hope you're still keeping it up.
