Day 1 Today!!

I've smoked for 20 years (on and off!!) definitely more on than off... today is the first day of the rest of my longer life. I woke at 7am, stuck a patch on my bum... popped the nicotinell gum in my mouth and I actually feel OK!! Of course... I've been here before but I have to say I've never used the Quit Smoking products before so I'm optimistic....

I appear to have no actual cravings for the cigarette, more for the routine of going outside regularly for one, so am trying to keep busy. The bonus seems to be that if I do feel like I want to go and have one, I have the gum instead and the feeling passes.

Good luck to everyone giving it a go today....

Hi Aly and welcome to the forum, good to have you on board.

Most of us here have quit more than once, it does not matter how many quits it takes, don't quit quitting.

Keeping busy, drinking water, dancing around the room :D eating chocolate whatever works for you is fine.

There are loads of links around that I would recommend you read, it will help you keep your head in the right place.

Stay strong, stay focused, read loads and post often.

Good luck.

Hi Aly, and welcome to the forum.

Having a positive mental attitude is so important, and it sounds like you do! The craves never last long, do whatever it takes to get through - little sips of cold water can be a help - and wave each crave goodbye as it goes!

Stay strong and you will do this.
