Day 4 Again

So I tried cold turkey a few months ago and failed after about 8 days I think. I am now on day 4 cold turkey after weeks and weeks of cutting back to about 10 cigs a day. No major cravings so far today. And it is the official UK No Smoking Day right? So I hope many others have chosen today to quit. Funny I have not seen anything on the news about this today.

I was woken up at 1 am this morning by an old friend who locked herself out. She wanted to use the phone and also wanted to light up. I said sorry honey but there is no more smoking around here. She was quite impressed. She also stank of fags and booze.

I went shopping yesterday and noticed all the smokers outside having a fag.. funny thing was not one of them seemed happy !!! I found it difficult being near smokers will have to avoid situations like that until i feel a little stronger Have a good day...

hey hey hey - day five and still alive. I was suffering flu like symptoms yesterday evening but feel good this morning.

Well done. Last time I spoke to my nurse I told her I was getting flu like symptoms and sinus pains. She said the reason for this is because when you smoke, all the little hairs that line the airways from your nose up to your head and down to your chest are burnt away, and they start growing back as soon as you stop, and this is what causes some ailments when you first quit. But once they're back you should be ok!!!

Not a very pleasant thought first thing in the morning, but hey ho!

Day 6 without nicotine - could it, could it be that I might make a week? Yes I will make a week. I'm feeling great, breathing is much better already and my sense of smell is returning.

Yes it is day 7. This time tomorrow will be hell week over and done with. Already my skin is looking healthier. I had some stress issues yesterday and had a few beers, but kept away from the cigarettes or any nrt products. I have a box of nicorette inhalers in the cupboard but I don't want to use these - although in an emergency they maybe better than buying a packet of cigs.
