Feel like I am on a make or break day, I have really struggled with insomnia headache and cravings from hell (all these 3 minute cravings still seem like 3hrs)
I keep asking myself…. When do I start to feel better, when do I notice the benefit of not having that ciggie, the only thing that’s keeping me smoke free is the thought of having to go through these first 6 days again.
Thanks for listening

Hi Jan, so by tomorrow you will have done a full week, that it fantastic well done you. You will start to find it easier soon I promise, I can not give you a day because everyone is different but soon.
Do you have a treat planned for your week of freedom?
Have you started to notice how much better you smell, your fingers are less yellow and so are your teeth.
Stay strong it is worth it, sending you some positive mental attitude and a hug to get you to that whole week done.
Keep going! It will get better. I'd bet my best hat on it! Try and stay positive. I know if you are feeling physical symptoms it can be hard to work through them, but, they will go. Baby steps baby steps xx

Hi Jan just about one week and you may have been told by some friends outside this forum that the first three days are the worst then it get's easier.
Well I hate to be the one to tell you this it's not like that, I'm trying to be honest with you..
The stage you are at now is hard very hard but part of it is your own doing. This might sound crazy but it's because you believe it should be hard, before you stopped how many times did you say I'd like to stop but I don't think I can. Or I'm too scared to try because I don't think I can, we all did and it is partly psychological when it comes to stopping we have aready convinced ourselves it will be hell.
Have you ever seen the childrens film the little engine that could? The little engine pulled the train full of toys over the big mountian after the big engine was broken and the toys had to get to the children in the village at the other side of the mountian for Christmas. Well all the way there the little engine kept saying over and over again "I know I can, I'm sure I can, I know I can" and it got there. So now you should start saying that same thing to yourself and believe you can do it. This goes for all of you who are struggling just believe you can and you will.
A very well done on what you have acheived so far don't give in and you'll end up like me, I don't smoke anymore I've stopped becaused I believed I could and oh boy it is sooooooo worth it.
Your a maker not a breaker..... keep on with it, its just temporary... promise! It'll ease off soon, just take it easy, relax and let it wash over you.
Do something you enjoy... even if that is raiding the choccy cupboard.
Thanks EVERYONE, so glad I decided to check the forum this afternoon, your support as helped me so much today, found myself reciting “The little Engine” whilst sat in traffic on the way back from the supermarket (thanks Jack)…. Happy to report yet another day smoke free!!

Hi Jan
I'm so sorry you're struggling with the insomnia headaches and cravings just now
I promise you it will get better for you and I think you must be a week smoke free now or thereabouts and soon you'll begin to feel the benefits of stopping
Some of them are already there but because of the headache and the craves you just haven't noticed them yet
Soon you'll realise that your sense of taste and smell are better, you're breathing has improved and that is only the beginning of the benefits you'll find
Keep going Jan the best is yet to come OK
Keep posting, keep reading and if you need to rant then just rant anything that helps is fine with us
i know exactly how you feel. The feeling is so bad that you think smoking will take it all away but trust me the opposite will happen.. You will then feel okay for that maybe first one or two ciggies then you will feel even more depressed then you do now.. You will then be making your quit plan all over again & in all honesty it is not worth.....For me this happened a number of times & i still fell for the same trap. I am now back on a quit into day 8. Its harder in a way the more times you fall.. Its like you know exactly how to cope because youve done it so many times..Its just harder in the way that you know its easy to break the quit like its not taboo anymore.. make sense?
Hope it helps.. Good luck with ure quit, hope ure feeling happier. & hope ive helped
