Well I just wanted to do my 1 month post. I can't actually beleive that yesterday was 1 whole month without smoking. Absoultely unbelieveable.

Has it been easy - no not at all and I know I have a long way to go. On the days that is's bad for me I think right tinks you have 2 choices either wallow in self pitty or get on with it and remember you made the choice not to smoke - I always chose the latter.

What's the point in feeling sorry for myself? It will only make me miserable.

Now I really don't seem to think about it too much and when I do I feel kind of liberated like I'm free. :)

I just want to thank the peeps on here for their support. Without you I would still be smoking so thank you. Your support means a hell of a lot

To all you newbies - it is true what everyone says it does get much easier - hang in there.

Thank you all

Take care

Tinks xx :)

Hey Tinks

CONGRATUMALATIONS TO YOU

Pat yourself on the back repeatedly until it starts to sting, crack open a bottle of whateverticklesyourfancy, pour a glass and repeat until:

1. Your back stops stinging

2. You feel all warm and toasty

3. Any combination of the above

Month 2 celebrations are even better so you gotta make it there! (it also gives me a month to work out what the celebrations may be for month 2!).

Thank Stav... Maybe I could open a few bottles and drink that much that I'm in a paraletic state and so can't feel my back stinging?? No, OK then I won't...

Oh check you out by the way I was reading your Delia thread - oh so wish I could cook. I am can't cook, won't cook, shouldn't cook.

This is how bad I am right I wanted some pasta so put pasta on to cook. Simple you would think hey? No not for me I heard ting, ting, ting. And what had I done? Forgot to put water in with the pasta. One burnt saucepan!!

You see though I'm not forgetfull like that in any other aspect of my life just when I cook.

I have NEVER cooked a roast dinner - how bad is that. Why? Coz it's too much to think about all at once and I start to panic...

Yet I have an important job with lots going on all at once and a lot of stress but I deal with it and don't panic but when it comes to cooking I just can't do it.

I generally live on ready meals

I would welcome any cooking lessons!! Is Jamie Oliver cookbook easy to follow?

Off subject a bit I know - sorry

Thank you Stav :)

You're very welcome! You diserve a mighty pat!

Funny, you describe your work how a chef would describe their job!

Jamie books are pretty good as his style is pretty much chuck it all in and cook it! Baking is a different story though!

We religiously have a roast dinner every Sunday of which I'm generally on duty for. Got a nice shoulder of Venison for this weekend :)

Wow well done. The patches have so worked better for you than the Champix, which is great. :)

You are doing really well, and by the way I am a useless cook hence the reason DH and I eat out a lot, :D

Loving your work my love, you should be very proud. xx

Hi Tinks,

Congratulations on the 1 month milestone, it feels great doesn;t it?. you are doing so well....:D

Not seen you on here for a while and was wondering how you were doing, glad to see you back posting.

It isn't easy even after a month, however it has improved I still have times when I still think about the dirty weed, bit I am determined to beat this once and for all.

Big hug

Shazie.x:)

Hey all

Thank you for the replies - it's great this place. I am not on any patches or NRT. I only used it for the first couple of weeks and then nothing. Different things work for different people & this is working for me :D

If it wasn't for this place then like I said I would be still chuffing away but I'm not and it's good. The only downside to quitting is the fact that I'm putting weight on at the rate of a baby whale.

My bum has got so lardie I think I'm gonna have to go and get bridget jones pants

But I know I'm not really eating crap so I guess that will just sort itself out.

If I'm not around much over the next few weeks it's because I'm really busy with work and at home it just seems that there are not enough hours in the day! I will try and get on here as often as I can as I do like to offer my support to others whenever possible.

Have a great Friday peeps

Tinks xx :)

Absolutely fantastic, 1 month already! Tinks you must feel brilliant. Really well done, you sound so strong and confident as well, it's great to hear.

The time has sort of gone quite quick (or is that my brain blocking out the tricky bits and only leaving in the good?)

Here's to the next month and all who jump aboard!

Well done you,

Lorraine :)
