Feels really good actually

Just watched the Allen Carr dvd and finished my last ever cigarette. I was blown away by how simple the information was, yet how big the impact it's had on my brain. He crushed every argument I had for why I smoked.

21 years and quite heavy for that last 3. But I am not scared this time. I quit for 2 years before and then went away and started smoking. Can't even remember why other then my friend was and I really missed them.

But I am armed now with information that makes it seems impossible to actually smoke. I look forward to reading everyone elses stories. I am going to try and ride out the first few days and painlessly as possible. I just need to keep remembering that they actually don't give me anything, but take so much:eek:

Just to say welcome and you are in the right place. You'll find lots more first hand information here. I would say read as many posts on here you can, it will help you to know what to expect. Maybe as you have stopped before you may remember what it was like yourself.

Good luck,

Jack

Quittings easy staying quit is hard

Hi Tullah so glad you have decided to make a decision that will improve your quality of life

keep using the forum as its a great quit aid and also a good laugh which will be invaluable in keeping you smoke free

Heres my little poem which I use as a mantra and have from day one

I’m really glad that you’ve quit

Cause in the past you’ve smoked some sh**

Smelly Hair Hands and Breath

Shorter Life but longer Death

Up the hills you’ve got no puff

Smokers cough that makes you rough

So pass each day without the weed

Cause only then will you succeed

So Bravo to all that now don’t smoke

Cause early Death is sure no Joke

Hi Tallulah

Well done on quitting. The helpful info and members on this site are of great support.

Everyone's quit method is different, it's the quitting that's most important.

I am on day 6 of my quit using Allen Carr's method although I used NRT gum for the first 2 days

It all became clear this morning when I woke with no desire to smoke which was the best feeling ever! I have had no desire to smoke during the day either.

The DVD is really good (the Robin Hayley one? ) and further reinforced my quit.

Best wishes

"TJ"
