Sorry if this is not the correct board, but some of the comments and behavious on the site at the moment is really causing me concern.

This is the NSD site....Helping smokers who want to quit

There is a lot of belittling and sniping, intentional or not, going on at the moment and that is not what I thought the site was for.

We are all trying to stop smoking, we are here to HELP and SUPPORT each other....if someone trips, be grateful it was not you and if you cant be supportive leave them alone.

Please, can we get back to supporting and play nicely.

Well said Lorna.

I personally love a good debate (well let's face it, a good argument!!) but this is a support board and the reason I have done so well (better than expected) is the support from this board.

I have only lost my temper once on this board which is a surprise as I have given up smoking (if you did not know) and frankly I'm tetchy at the best of times.

Humour will get us all through this quit, shouting and snapping will not. Hell I want wine!

Hi Lorna, must have missed those recent posts u talking about, but u spot on when u say this should be a supportive forum, cos I know I wouldnt be here without most peoples kind and supportive words of encouragement. But know what u mean about negative posts, I just choose to ignore them.

Ha ha Pol, U Octoquits are a great bunch..... And yes I do seem to be inviting alot of people already, Well suppose the invites need to go out b4 the event or u would all double book.....

I'm assuming this relates to "Not intended to cause offence BUT........"

I'm sure if there're any threads on this site which are deemed not to be supportive, and completely against what this site is trying to achieve will be removed by the Moderators.

Outside of that I guess how we look and react to posts is a personal "thing", one persons right is another persons wrong, we're all different.

I've not read anything offensive in the above post; I see a debate relating to peoples thoughts and differing experiences.

The above is one post against a backdrop of hundreds if not thousands of others where we're all patting each other (and ourselves) on the back.

I feel to suggest that the site is not a supportive tool (or is diverting from bing so) is a little strange.

Well said this is supposed to be a supportive site but unfortunately from time to time this sniping and belittling does go on

It is upsetting to many to say the least I personally have many times reported such posts/threads but for the most part they remain on the forum and the people that make them go along their merry way regardless and nothing seems to get done about it

For sure some of them get deleted or the offending posts removed but by then the damage has been done of course

My best advice to anyone who finds something upsetting , rude or belittling is to report it to the mods and not retaliate as this just feeds the persons ego and it gets worse and worse something I found out the hard way as did those I was trying to help and defend

For anyone who doesn't know how to report something there is a red triangle at the top right hand of every post to report straight to the mods

Actually this was not intended against any thread in particular but a perception of a more general mood swing on the forum where some people have been snipped at or been sent negative messages either on the boards, their profiles or by PM. There have even been negative comments about some of our positivity here.

The "Not intending to cause offence" was probably the one that broke the camel back so to speak and prompted my posting, but this is a general post and not aimed at anyone in particular.

Pol had produced an invitation to Kaz 1 year Penthouse party and gloated unashamadly I may add about having the invite already...it was obvious then she did not want to be in our gang anymore and was cultivating a solo move...hence my Robbie and Geri comments...they two left thier respective band memebers after they had climbed so high together
