Theres a lady at work who since i've quit smoking has always asked me how i'm getting on, how many weeks/months i've been quit now.. and this i've treasured during my quit.. i've always walked away from this lady feeling much better about being quit from smoking... and mostly because she's always give me that 'WELL DONE!!!' i needed when perhaps i needed to hear it most.
So bought her some nice chocolates today and told her that i really have appreciated the encouraging words.. she was in tears (happy ones), but i made a point of telling her that folk who are quitting an addiction need folk like her and to never change.
Thank god for people like this, glad i told this lady how much she's helped.

That was extremely sweet of you. I have a friend who has been just fantastic and I sent her a bouquet of flowers on Saturday as a thank you. Without her I would have gone mad.
I've had some great support over the past few weeks and have felt like doing something like that. Even my physiotherapist has been fantastic - not only with my shoulder but also encouraging me with giving up - so much so that the emotional state I have been in has meant I've burst out crying in front of her a few times. She must think I'm some sort of nutter!
But I have noticed since I've given up that I do have more time for people and am "nicer" (not that i could be nicer of course! :)) I was in M&S the other night and this woman had half emptied her basket and asked me to look after her stuff as she had to go get something. When she came back I had unpacked her basket for her. She thought I was some sort of nutter as well!!! HAAAAAA!!!!!
Lovely thing to do Jase, everyone loves to be thanked, especially us girls. So pleased you had someone there encouraging you it really makes a difference
