That's hard. Glad you managed not to, but it is hard! Associations are very ingrained eh. I found my first night out (dinner, bar, lots of people) a bit of a mare- I kept thinking I 'should' be smoking, rather than actually wanting to smoke. Does that make any sense? Anyway, we just get through and get past and congratulate ourselves! There is no such thing as 'just one', it's those 'just ones' that have desdtroyed my previous quits and like you, I think there has to come a point where we get serious about it.

Well done, stay strong. :D

Well done Jude, each time you handle a 'used to smoke' situation you gain strength and a stronger belief in yourself. Hang in there.

I know what you mean Jude and how you associated that 'wouldn't a smoke just make this a perfect day/time/situation' with your day off and being out and about.

I've planned and worked around most 'want a smoke situations' for the winter but I know come next summer it will be a new mind shift and acceptance to help with that.

Good on you for seeing it for what it was....... great work

Well done, Jude! You may get that nagging feeling here and there but it's just the addiction talking. It will fade more and more into your past! You are doing so well!! Always post if you get that feeling of wanting one or if you're worried about your quit..... you have to wait for at least 5 replies before doing anything! I know though that this is the one.... so I'll be quiet :)

Hi Jude :D

Well done you in the 3rd week that's great Big Hug coming your way

Not even thinking about them either is even better

The nagging today though us because you went away for the day a fun thing almost like a holiday and because you associate fun/holidays with smoking the Demons decided to have a go at you and set of the trigger in you

But well done you got through it and the next time if/when this happens it won't be as bad OK

You're doing really well Jude just keep going onwards and upwards

Love

WTG Jude and all of you......Like Dee said there is no such thing as

"just one smoke". I had a test last week, in regards to watchin

football with a bunch of friends.....sum were lighting up, but it

didn't bother me. I felt sorry for them, not envy.

Keep up da quit.:)

Yes those triggers are so annoying, you think you have done all the getting over them and along comes another one. I guess we were around them for so long there were many triggers but once you have jumped over them all you will be done, how marvellous - also, as time goes on they are so much easier to pass.

[

You stay strong you hear and if that boss starts on you then tune into that wkd imagination of yours ]

LOL yea, maybe hitting him over the head with an imaginary hammer would work

No, this is the first time i know i will never have one again (bella wipes sweat from brow in relief) It's not an option

I'm a non- smoker, non smokers never smoke ever. They especially don't smoke when they're stressed, bored or drunk . (Do i have a bit of a rep here for "liking a drink" or summat ? I read somewhere i should post when i'm drunk....like it's not all the time , guys, what are you trying to say here?LOL)

I hadn't grasped the quite simple concept that giving up smoking, means just that, It means you can never have another one. I actually didn't enjoy smoking when i gave up ( iassume i must've done at some point, or did i?) It was just something i did. So it shoulda been easy, but of course it isn't, I will never really understand craving and yearning for something that you don't even like!

Doing it the lapsy way like i have, you do begin to realise that you have that cigarette, it's still not that nice, even though you wanted it, and then you want more, into routine boring smoking again. So there is nooo point in having another one

your doing great Jude - keep it going.

I hope you dont mind me asking but have you thrown out all the smokes and lighters and ashtrays and everything?

throwing the ashtrays is a great mental step. cos it shows your commitment to your unconscious psyche, which is really powerful. Even if it means that smoking friends have to use an old cup or something

keep going superstar! were with you :D

tis' really nice to see you are finally pigeon-holing smoking for what it was. You can indeed 'do life' without smoking and its good once you reach the point where you realise you can do just fine without having a cig.

There will be alot of situations ahead where you will stop and think 'hey i used to smoke when i stressed like this!'.. or similar, but you will quickly realise that it doesn't make the situation itself any better, it just leaves you wanting another one soon after and before long you're back on the merry-go-round of smoking anyway.

Keep to the plan, don't smoke and keep on seeing what a con that smoking lark was anyway. You don't need it, you probably never did anyway.

I am just dispensing of lighters now b, how many lighters have i acquired? I have 24 and thats just in my bed room and not odd ones floating around the house, in pockets etc.etc.

Jase, I am doing life without it now, and enjoying it!!

I choose life
