the first time ever 5 days without smoking i am shocked but proud of myself never thought i would get here as i loved smoking (weird) huh
i chose to stop when my grandson was 19 months old and i felt like 70...ps only 43...but was huffing and puffing just walking...i had been smoking since 12 years old and built up tp 20/30 a day kept promising myself would stop when coughing got worse but it just went on and on...after my grandson was born i knew i wanted to live longer and enjoy it i wanted to walk everywhere and go on holiday without worrying bout heat and exaustion from breathing  so just now yes i am struggling it is not easy spec breaking the habit ie, in the car after food or drink having a break at work ect ect i carry a book about with me and chat to folk more and also ask friends not to smoke round me just now (sorry) i am determined this time so good luck all x

Hi! Have you stopped smoking for 3 weeks? Or on Champix for 3 weeks? I am dense!! i have seen so many positive posts about Champix, kind of wish I'd heard of it before I quit! You have made such a great decision, you are too young to be huffing and puffing, still got loads of years of fun ahead so being able to breathe will be a bonus!! Best of luck, this place is a great place for support, advice etc. XX

Cool, 5 days is very good, the nicotine is gone so physical cravings should be much weaker if there at all. Well done! I am cold turkey-ing (did gum for 2 days but ditched it!) and I am having bad sleeping patterns (i.e. no sleep!), wierd dreams when I do sleep, lots of odd symptoms. I think they are going to happen regardless of the quit method, but I assume (I bleeding well hope so anyway) they will improve.
As to mental faculties, mine have gone walkies these last 3 weeks!! I don't care though, just glad to be smoke free
