My opinion is it doesnt matter what day you are on... What matters is not having anymore. If you do that what differance does 3 days make?
Hi Sue
I'm sorry you had a lapse on day 2 and 3 but as to whether you go back to day one or stay where you are that's entirely up to you and how you feel about it
If you can carry on and not smoke again that's great but be careful Sue it is so easy to get pulled back to smoking as you did before and that could happen if you keep having the odd one here and there
Love
Marg xx
You can be day 50 if you want, it does help if you stop smoking though. Stop playing and take it serious, it is a killer. If you really want it you'll get it. How can people be x amount of days smoke free when they have smoked, just kidding themselves. David.
Your choice I would say. This question always divides us here, some reckon it does not matter, others say it matters a lot. The main thing IMHO is that you never have another cig, which ever day helps you do that is fine with me.
I think it's the number of days smoke free, not the number of days since you made the decision- if you smoke, you're not smoke free! Simples, as the little meercat fella would say! But, I think most people take more than one attempt at quitting (hell, I'm on number 4!!) so no need to stress, just start again.
keep it up
I've lost count the amount of times i quit and fell off the wagon. I kept trying, never gave up hope and now I'm free from the unmentionables for almost a year!! If I can do it, anyone can.
If it makes you happy, it tickles the heck out of me
Dear Tigger, let he who is without lapse throw the first butt. I read that you have picked yourself up from the falling and are back on the path. Good. I would like for you to take someone's sig and find tales from the quit and then find the tale about feeding the demon. Next time do whatever it takes to make it to day four. Next time do whatever it takes to make it to day four. OK. Then when you come across those stashed smokes you remember how rough it was to get to day four and grab a Werther's.
Day 2 now tiggers Keep it going
Hi Stumpsounder/Delboy/Kara and others I am sort of getting to know
I didnt have a stash Stumpsounder. I had cleared the house and was totally shocked when they apeared... if I had not been looking for nicotine gum thy would still be there un opened. now they are donated to a neigbour.... from talking to her about my reasons for stopping she said she wants to too.

It is your choice. I stopped on 10 October and slipped on day 30, then stopped again on 31 so I thought I could just count it as a slip but then I kept slipping on and off.
I decided that I couldn't cheat myself and had to give myself a slap so I started again from day one 24 November.
I have the "quit counter" application and I have kept my previous quit, it's still running (Free and Healing for 1 month, 17 Days) to remind me of where I should be if I didn't waste 2 weeks (although only smoke on few of those days).
I can still say that I have been mending myself for the last month and 17 days but I have been nicotine free for only 4 days!
Hope this helps,
Sandrine

Good for you Sandrene, spoken like an honest person, the only way to conquer an addiction. David
Tigger, If I have offended you I am sorry. Whenever I find something I did not expect to find I have always exclaimed "STASH". I reread the post a couple of times and I guess this is where I went wrong. Put on my winter coat and find cigars...stash, put on my jeans and find money in the pocket...stash. I am on your side here. My signature says my last smoke was Aug 11. My quit date was July 21.
Hi Stompsounder.... you didnt offend me lol bt it sounded as though I had some cigs in the house in case. anyway how you doing today... my new day 3 and I am ok, woke with a craving but it gone now
Hi Tigger
Glad you're back on track and strong. You'll get ther and so will we!!
