Oh dear
Being in the Lake District we are now flooded, but thankfully our home is OK (we live on a hill) but friends and family have not been so lucky. Total devastation and very traumatic but I have now opened a bottle of Chateauneuf du pape (you have to know your wines here!!) and thanked my lucky stars I still have my hubby, my home, job and all friends and family are safe. Oh and I've not had a ciggie!!
Seriously my fellow Octo quitters is this does not make me smoke you lot have no excuse.

Saw the floods on the news but never connected that it's affecting someone I "know". Glad your safe, and reallyu impressed with being smoke free after that sort of stress. Enjoy the wine, you've earned it.

Well done on not smoking despite the stress you must be under. Just remember that smoking would not change anything for the better - the floods would still be there and so would the stress!

Seriously, I live close to the River Severn in Glos and it's hell for those effected by flooding most winters (and the summer 07) and I know how devastating being flooded is. Hope the waters recede quickly for all concerned esp all yr family and friends.

Oh, there have been some serious flood problems for some people, really awful. Glad you're ok! Enjoy the wine, it tastes sooo much nicer without the background tatse of fags! I have really noticed that this week- or is that just an excuse to drink more wine?? Stay dry, stay safe, be happy!

Sorry about the flooding up there and the devastation but you're right to count your blessings
Don't forget to count the fact that you no longer smoke as one will you
Well done getting through that stress without one if you can get through that smoke free you can get through anything OK

Hi Christine, so sorry to hear about the floods but glad you are OK friend. Dont blame you opening that bottle one of my favourites too but cant remember when I last had a glass of that . You take great care up there and hope all is well for you and yours in this horrid time, and well done on the no smoking Im just behind you.

Was wondering if you'd been affected. Pleased your on dry land, it looks terrible from what I've seen on the TV. Keep the drinks cabinet well stocked - and well done on not having a cigarette.

This is near to us, it's a picture of the bridge but it is now under water, if you look to the right that is the terrace bar where we sit in summer, you can just see the tops of the french windows of the bar which is normally 10 foot above the river!!:

Wow those pictures are scary, it's bad when you see it on the news, but somehow more realistic when you know someone who is there. Look after yourselves and stay safe.

Evening my lovelies
Thank you for your good wishes and DH and I are fine. Husbands work has has been flooded but that's why we all have insurance for. As I've said before it is no where as bad as the North Lakes (I'm South).
However I was stuck in the house all day today (I'm an outdoor sort of girl really) as the weather is bad and I've been bored all day meaning I have so wanted a ciggie. Anyway I never.
However I must have been stressed yesterday as I should have posted this in month 2 and I posted it in week 2! Oh dear.
Week 2? Oh totally understandable given the circumstances. Hope the clean up doesn't disrupt work to much and your able to get about generally OK in the coming days.
Boredom is a trigger isn't it? Really wish at times I'd quit in spring then there would be so much more to do during the lighter evenings.
I could do knitting I suppose! Anyway, good for you for not giving in... not that it's an option now
