Don't know why, but really craving today. Still using patches, STEP 2. Day 80!
I think it's coz my trousers are getting tighter round the waist, and I didn't want to put on any weight when I gave up.
Need to do MORE excercise.
But I do seem to have less energy. I thought I would be full of beans, wanting to run a marathon. But no, I was much more active when I smoked. Now I have given up, I am always knackered and slob in front of the tele.
Ho hum, sorry for whittling on a load of old rubbish.

Yeah..... month 3 can be a bit of a tough one..... they call it the terrible 3s.... search for it on here, you'll get plenty of threads!
This is not it, you know............ went through it, too...... day after day, I became lazier, fatter, was often miserable, and thought the days of smoking were way better! I truly think it is all part of the recovery........... slowly changing the way you think, getting your life back. There is nothing funny or mild about this addiction.......... and it takes a lot to get yourself out of it and back to healthy living. The weight will come off, and no, you will not remain a boring slob watching tele............... it's all part of the process. Stay focused, continue on with your quit, and post if you need support.......... you'll get through this and life on the other end is much sweeter..... believe me! Good luck, okay!
WOW 80 days that's great keep it going we all have the odd day of craving now and then but it will as you very well know pass
The lack of energy is normal as well as your body heals from the abuse you gave it heal it will you just have to give it time OK
I still have the odd day when all I want to do is absolutely nothing I tend to give in to that feeling whenever possible and do just that NOTHING
As for the extra weight it will start to come off again as your body heals and adjusts and the metabolism goes back to normal I put on a couple of stone but am now almost my pre quit weight again as you feel able to exercise more this will help but I'm unable to do any really strenuous exercise so it's taking a little longer for me to get there
Hi State - firstly 80 days is brilliant! I'm just behind you.
But a few of us seem to going through a bit of a dodgy time at the moment. I've got the lack of energy too (along with a zillion other things!) - and I remember after about 3/4 weeks being hyper!!
I would imagine with the lack of adrenalin pumping through our bodies, which is what smoking did, is going to make us feel lacking in energy.
I know I haven't felt like doing much since my quit and I could sleep for England too.
All I keep telling myself is that none of this is worse than being a slave to the fags. Just one day at a time and we'll all get there....happy and energetic (well that's what I keep telling myself )
3 months away seems a while away. I am on day 5 and I thought come 3 months I would be a new woman, maybe I am expecting too much. Though I get tired my energy levels seem to be a little higher.
A lot better day today. Went for a 2 mile walk this evening before dinner, 2.1 miles in 34 minutes, not too bad.
Didn't have as many cravings today thank goodness!
Maybe its time to quit patches and every connection with nicotine?
being at day 80 and still injecting your body with nicotine just makes your suffering bigger , you must have tons of willpower to endure that .
I don't know if I am ready to quit the patches. I did stop for a few days the other week, but I felt like I was crawling up the wall, only feeling better once I had put on a patch.
Thanks for your messages, it does feel good to know I am not alone, and that others have or are going through the same thing!
One thing I have noticed, I haven't been in a newsagents for a while

You will be a new woman in 3 months time, you will smell nice, be more relaxed, have more money, you will be able to go to the cinema without worrying about having a fag, and you will be healthier and live longer!
Actually, I have made you sound great, I might leave the wife

Lol. I think that although we moan a lot on here it really isn't THAT bad. I called smokeline the other night cos I was worried that I would still be feeling rotten down the line, as I've met people who have given up for over a year and say that the cravings never leave them. I spoke to a lady on smokeline last night who said that technically speaking that is true, but the cravings are usually only occasional passing thoughts, which aren't worth mentioning. Why would people put themselves through the pain of giving up if they are constantly tormented by thoughts of fags for the rest of their lives? It would surely make more sense to start smoking again. We agreed that some folk are just drama queens ( I think myself included sometimes). Of course I don't think that applies to the person who started this thread as three months is still early days. Can I ask - do you feel better now after three months than at the beginning of your quit?
I would agree with the lady you spoke to on smoke line and the craves after a year etc are just those little fleeting thoughts that is all I get now and have done for a while now and at almost at a year quit I am sure if I had still been craving I would be back on the fags so little thoughts yes craves no
Launie
It does get better by then but for some of us month 3 can be hard at times it's the dreaded threes again
Stateof play
I'm pleased to hear you're feeling a bit better and the craves are not as bad for you now
If you don't feel ready to ditch the patches yet then don't you'll know when the time is right for you to do that OK
