Well Day 3 of Champix for me and well not alot has changed so far, however I am incredibly tired all the time and I have felt quite emotional too. I notice that in the afternoons and evenings, smoking is not at the forefront of my mind, I can quite happily light a cigarette and then put it out halfway through. I also noticed that in the evening, I am only having about 2 or 3.
This morning I felt a bit sickly after my tea break ciggie, so I think the pills are starting to do their stuff.
At this time I think I will be giving up next Wed/Thurs.

Looks like Champix is doings it's job. I set my day as day 12 but I actually stopped day 8, my advice will be don't put yourself under any pressure, smoke when you want and you will know when you are ready to start your new life as a non smoker.

Hi Michelle
Good luck with your quit and well done for finding the forum...it really does help.
I,m also on Champix and if you read around the forum there is lots of praise for it. Just relax and let Champix do its work, its subtle but it will work.
Thanks everyone, this weekend will be interesting as I am off to stay with my Mum, I can't smoke over there, so Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday morning will be non smoking for me, so lets see how I get on. Normally I can just about handle it though I feel bad tempered, i'm hoping this time will be easier
Champix worked for me. It took 13 days so I was worried I was immune, but my smokes just tailed off to zero so in reality i'm just a slow starter. Stay with the tablets (and these forums) and let them do their job, very soon you won't feel that craving. and the you'll have your first day!
Well done on getting this far. I quit on Champix and thought it was great.
Few things to remember:
1. You will more than likely get some side effects, weird dreams, nausea. The sickness can be controlled by making sure you eat before taking the pill.
2. Don't rush it - let Champix do it's stuff. Smoke if you want to, but don't smoke if you don't want one. Don't have a cigarette just because you always have one at a particular time.
3. Be positive, read everything you can about understanding your addiction and what other people have been through. There's loads of Champix info on here.
4. Keep posting, tell us how you're getting on and ask questions.
