to help me fall pregnant

I've smoked off and on for about 12years I managed to stop when I fell pregnant with my 4year old son and didn't start again until he was nearly 1.

My husband and I would like a brother or sister for my son so I've decided to stop again and this time stay stopped.

I want to be fit and well and stay looking young; most of all I don't want my son to see me smoking and to take it up when he is older!

Good for you, i definitely cannot disagree with your reasoning in the slightest, i'm a dad of a lovely 2 year old girl, and particularly this quit, i decided that just after she hit 2 in the first week of july that i would quit smoking so that she would not start mimicking any of the act of smoking as they tend to copy everything they see. I'm hopng that she probably won't even remember me smoking now, or at least soon.. and thats how i want it to stay.

As a parent and looking towards a second child, i'm sure you've seen this advert. It really does put across exactly what you've just described in every way, and it was one of the things i saw on TV prior to this quit that really stuck in my mind. So in a way, this advert I have to thank partially for me being quit now.

So best of luck with your quit.. give it 110% and don't be afraid to draw on support from these forums.

Well done on trying to quit, it will be the best thing you can ever do to improve your health and wealth and set an example to your little one (that is why I finally quit).

However, and I am not really sure how to break this to you, but here goes, It isn't the not smoking that gets you pregnant .

A superb reason there for stopping. But also - if you stop you are much more likely to see your children grow up and be there for them!

I stopped smoking when my sister had her first child. I fell in love with him and decided I wanted to see him grow up, in fact I want to be at his 50th birthday - I will be 90 then!

I know I would be VERY unlikely to get to 90 if I carried on smoking!
