Champix affects us all in different ways, I felt sick on day 1 and on day 2 I just felt 'down' but that was it. Best to just be aware of how you are feeling.
Try and smoke your normal amount and let Champix do the rest. Good luck
I used Champix and found it a huge help I only had a little nausea with the morning one but took it a bit later and that solved the problem
Feeling a little high or light headed is normal for a lot of us not just us champix users it will pass very soon OK
Don't worry about that quit day just live as you normally do and let the champix do it's work it will soon kick in

are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be
This link is good for the psychological part of quitting
3. Champix affects people differently, both in terms of side effects and efficiency time. There has been a lot of scary stories, mainly State-side about Champix and depression/suicide, but these are few and far between. It can change your mood, eg angry, sad etc - but so does giving up smoking. Just be aware of what's happening and don't be afraid to ask here.
4. Read everything you can find about understanding the addiction. In basic terms (and I am no expert, but here goes...) your brain has receptors which tune in to nicotine; when they get nicotine, they release dopamine which gives you an 'up'; when the nicotine runs out, they want their 'fix' again. Champix blocks nicotine getting to these receptors therefore it can't give you the 'high' you associate with smoking. Champix also releases/creates a release of reduced dopamine in itself. Champix therefore reprogrammes your brain not to get a kick from smoking. It takes away the craving.
5,. Don't force yourself to quit before your ready...and, just as importantly, not force yourself to smoke if you don't really want on.
6. Be patient and let the Champix do the hard work, but you've still got to do your bit by choosing not to light up.
Sue,s advice is spot on....just take it easy and let the Champix do its thing. It does take till the second week to start to kick in for most.
We have all had differnt experiences but a trawl through some of the old posts will hopefully help and we are always here to offer support when you need it.
I took my champix for the full two weeks before i stopped smoking just to be doubley sure itd work lol
Part from nausea and some very lets say vivid and interesting (vvv Rude) dreams lol i found them fine
I took them for another two weeks i quit and then stopped them im awful bad at taking tablets anyways... maybe it wasnt the right way to go about it, but hey always a rebel lol
Good advice so far. I found eating something first cuts down on the nausea a lot. I'm having some insane dreams as well, but it's a temporary side effect and as long as I'm off of the fags......*shrugs*
I guess it varies but once I started the 1mg tablets I really got nothing out of smoking so it made life a lot easier quit day.
Just started the 1mg tablets today and dam they have made me feel like crap again
did not take advise and eat before hand but i will 2morrow feelin a little sicky right now 8:46am see how the rest of my work day pans out.
worse thing being i have been moved into a big office on my own ( used to other company not my own at work ) so theres the first hurdle in my quest to kick this dam habit but i'll fight through it.
hope you are feeling better soon, i am on patches at the moment, and up to 72 hours smoke free, but going to the doctors tomorrow to see about champix too.
Well done on the decision to stop smoking a huge one in itself I also used champix and had a little nausea with the morning one just took it a bit later problem solved
