Champix quitter on day 5 of quit

Hello all

Very excited to be on here. After a million prior quits, I finally felt that I was truly ready but needed that extra push. The doctor gave me Champix. I was a bit worried with everything I read (not on here, but other places), but this stuff is FABULOUS. I quit on day 8 of the pills. I can't believe that I am having no withdrawal symptoms at all from getting off the fags. I've got a few side effects from the drug (the nausea and headache, for instance). But, it is a small price to pay. I feel so 'normal' that I can't believe it. I know it is early days, but the fact that I can be off the fags AND be clear headed and logical about staying quit, if you know what I mean!

Thanks for all the great information on this forum!

Best decision you've made!!!!! I'm on Champix as well and even though they are great get ready to dig your heals in as well casue them there cravings will still try to bite at your ankles!

But like all things life thats worth anything - its worth the struggle!!!!

Keep in there and come back often and let us all know how you are doing!!!

Well done Julie for making that decision, as pd said you will be very lucky if you dont have to put up a bit of a fight against the old demons but Champix gives you a good start

Keep strong
