Week 3 and craves are getting stronger

Its been successful 15 days without any patch but just with the strong determination. I want to quit it coz i was not feeling like a normal 27 yr old person who has stamina, endurance and moreover it segregates me from my friends as I have to leave them to get a ciggi....

Since I made up my mind to quit it without any patches, Now its 15 successful days but now the crave for cigarettes are getting stronger and stronger such that my mind has started thinking the other way that I can enjoy smoking for another year or so , So all sorts of negative thoughts are coming to my mind which are pushing me towards smoke......

need advice how to get back

Hey.

I started my quit with patches but then for health reasons had to just go cold turkey, so i know how your feeling.

Nicotine comes out of your system after 3 days of not having any, so your craves are all phsycological, like mine, im on week 4 now, n still i think, jeez i could do with a fag, but look how far youve come, would be a waste of 2 weeks trying so hard if you just turn back to smoking, surely u feel a hell of alot better for not having them?

Im a couple of weeks ahead of you, n i feel so much healthier!

Keep it up, it'll be all with worth it in the end, even the spends, might only be fiver a day but it soon adds up.

If it helps think of a pro's and cons list, it helped me, also, breathing in and out deeply helped trick my mind that i was having a fag, alot of people advised me to do that.

Good luck

Hey everyone,

Congratulations on getting this far.

I came off the patches after a week because of poor finances and I went crazy:eek: I still feel a little crazy now but it's getting better. The cold turkey was bad but it was definitely worth it. I've tried quitting with patches before but I don't think that they're right for me.

I am sooo glad that I stumbled on this forum. Reading everyone else's experiences really helps me to get through the bad patches. It's really good to know that you're not alone and others have and are still going through the same thing.

It'll be 4 weeks tomorrow:)The cravings are just about gone, but I think that it's getting used to life without fags that's the hardest bit. I'm going to have to go on a serious diet. All I can say is thank God that it's winter soon:D
