Week 13: bit dull.

Nothing to truly report. no really , there just isn't.. we're all unwell in our house at the moment, my fiancé, me and yeah.. our daughter. My fiancé is saying its flu, and yeah it don't feel like 'just a cold' at all, but whats confusing me is why my daughter would have the same thing if she's already had that swine flu.

As for my quit? 've not even really thought about the quit.. so obviously not been craving either. I've not even had my monday lunchtime crave this week.. in fact the only time i've even thought about my own quit is as of this post, and i'm only writing this post coz i've not done one all week so far :)

I'm on Week 13, day 4 I've been nicotine free for 19 days, since coming off the course of patches.. and all is good.

I won't pretend that recent forum tiffs haven't had a massive impact on my quit, coz they really actually have.. but not so much that i've allowed it to rock my quit.. just that it was alot of extra stress i could have well done without. I hate trouble.. i really do... so this forum 'trouble' was just adding to the stress levels quite a bit, and how i've dealt with it is by not visiting and posting as much. (sorry to folk whom i would normally have posted a reply to)

Anyway, that is done with, and i hope folk can move on now, because the forum needs to.. particularly while a number of folk are going through a bad patch at this moment in time.

So here i am in week 13.. middle of.. and time is just actually really flying by at the moment, and sunday night at 10pm (11/10/09) will be the calendar 3 month milestone for me.

I would however like to tail off this post and wish both Chrissie V and PenguinPower BOTH the very best of luck and send them both my best regards for what has been a very trying times in different ways for each.

Be safe all

Jase

Well done mate, hope you all get better soon.

You sound quite down but remind yourself what a brave and wonderful thing you have done. 3 Months wow, I have done 3 weeks today and I am bursting with pride.

You were the first to welcome me here and so you are responsible for my quit so dont let things get to you, sticks and stones and all that,

Well done again

Love

Jase - week 13 off the fags is tremendous, your feeling down at the moment cos your ill.

You can catch swine flu twice, the virus can change, if you become infected with the swine flu virus, your body produces antibodies against it, which will recognise and fight off the virus if the body ever meets it again. However, if the virus mutates, your immune system may not recognise this different strain and you may become ill again, although you may have some protection from having had a similar virus previously. Experts are even saying that history of previous flu pandemics suggests that the current viral strain will spread more widely in the autumn or winter, causing more illness . It is possible that the virus will change into a stronger strain. So it could be that you have swine flu but it could also mean that you all just have "flu" which ever it is you all need to look after one another.

Please dont give up and get involved into squabbles I know its hard but if its having an effect on your quit you need to try and ignore it.

You have been a tower of strength to everyone including me and always there with a friendly word or bit of advise or basically a cold hard fact that always makes us sit up and think.

You are doing fantastically well and not long now to the 3 month mark.

Keep up the good work.

Jx

Hi Jase

Sorry you all feeling poorly (I'm surprised you haven't said it was "man flu"). Make sure you catch it and bin it as they say! Don't want you spreading germs around the new house as I will be following you in there.

Haven't been on here lately, so luckily seem to have missed the "squabbles" but have had one or two shocks when catching up with people. You have been one of my rocks during my quit, every time I do the inhale/exhale (good in/bad out) which is getting less, I think of you. LOL

Hope you fighting fit in no time and look forward to reading your posts.

I never suffer man-flu, although i hear thats a killer :)

So where have you been if you've not been on here? Not seen you about, so figured you were off somewhere :)

Glad you seem to be still quit there though, the breathing helps alot for any cravings you get now, bet they are alot less annoying than they used to be now though eh! :)

thanks michael, yeah me too m8y.. 3 of us have got temps over 38 deg C, and constant tired, off food too.. all the usual cold symptoms, and headache+aching all over.

One good thing about being v. ill though, it doubles the reasons not to smoke :)

Quit still going strong. Have been feeling a bit flat though at times if that makes sense. People seem to just accept that I don't smoke now, nobody says "WOW, well done, didn't think you would do it, etc" do you get my gist. Cravings are very few and far between now, but they still sneak up and try and catch me out. I am prepared though. :D

I have been having a quick flick through the pages now and again, as the forum page is part of my home tabs, so it always pops up. Assistant has been on holiday so work has been a bit manic, but hopefully will get back to normal by Monday and will be back offering support to the newbies as they seem to be coming thick and fast.

Get Well Soon :o

Yeah you kinda just need folk to ask if your still going good on your quit, it gives you that boost you sometimes need. :)

There is only 1 person where i work now who asks.. and i'm kinda glad :)
