Hi, I think a forum is a great idea as we are all in same boat and need support:eek:
It's hard work, I am on day 15 too and chewing nicorette gum, 2mg.
I have now ran out of Cinnamon flavour which was fab but can't seem to find it anymore but I am chewing freshfruit flavour. How do you guys do the cold turkey? You are saints! Anyway, I have noticed how stressed and short fused I am personally-especially on buses or in crowds, I am like a timebomb!
Nevertheless, I am actually here at day 15 and I am not looking at this as forever but till end of September to give myself a target.
If I get there, I think I will be very proud of me and certainly carry on.
Goodluck everybody, hang in there!

Being irritable and emotional is normal this early in a quit for most of us
Why wait until the end of September to be proud, be proud of yourself now as well
Below is my standard welcome and advice post which I try and give all new members
Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good
You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathiseing with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad
Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be
Post often to let us know how you're doing, to rant, rave have a moan whatever you like pretty much anything goes on here OK
I had some really bad moods in the early weeks, i get the odd day now, but instead of being an entire week of it, its just a passing thing, and you're used to it by then.
Stick at it.. and keep your targets to being manageable chunks/milestones and you should be ok.
Wow! Thanks everyone for being really supportive, I really appreciate it.
My next port of call-lol was my bright idea for the day to start exer:eek:cising! I dragged this old walking machine from the spare room to mine with great intentions at 1pm.....Since that point it has become a clothes horse while I curled up in bed with a packet of chocci biscuits and
watched TV One step at a time ey?!!!! (It really doesn't work, honest!!!)
lol - coccy buscuits are exercising as well you know - you gotta reeeaacccchhh into the packet, cuuuurrrrllll the arm to the mouth, chhhheewwwwww the buscuit.
repeat 10 reps.
times 3 sets
yeah 1 step at a time!
i'm still telling myself "what ever it takes" -
into week three is great lupa - you've done a lot of hard work to get to this point and should be very pleased and proud of yourself.
People have said to me, "Think of all the money you are saving by not smoking," but I have since become addicted to E-bay lol! I feel tearful today and eaten 3 rocky choc caramel biscuits since coming home from work:eek:
OK,Positive things- I love the fact my hair doesn't smell of smoke anymore and my tongue is not yellow, wow! That's amazing.
I never clear my throat anymore and all this oxygen is really going to my head!!!!!!!!! Thanks again guys for support, I am happy to be here.
Goodluck everybody! (It sounds like wink Bingo lol!) No, I am not addicted to that!
hope today has been a better day for you. All those positive things youve mentioned im loving as well.
youll find that they just get better and better. its not straight away and i found myself asking many times when i was at about the same stage that i didnt think things were happening fast enough and was almost a bit disolusioned.
problem is this is a marathon not a 100 meter race.
but it does just keep getting better and better, just takes a while longer than you think.
post again if your feeling bad and we'll do our best to get you back up and running

Think of the exercise that you got dragging from one room to the other. Not sure thats how they designed it.. but its still exercise. Then there was the 40 reps of lifting a chocolate biscuit to mouth.. poor you , I'd be exhausted
Everyone is being so supportive, I think it is actually getting easier as time goes by and the rapid health improvements make me feel positive.
Has anyone by chance had any breathing difficulties at night:eek:?
I find just before I drop off I have breathing problems and that's without the smokes! I found that vicks vapour rub sorted it out last night, does anyone think it is part of the "cleaning out proccess?" or am I just OD-ing on nicorette gum because I do chew a lot
